Whats the best way to get your credit limit increased then? Paying off in pull or partially? Spending upto your limit or halfway etc?
They don't tell us anything we don't already know. In summary:
1. Use the Vanquis card regularly and make payments on time (make at least the minimum payment)
2. Don't exceed the credit limit
3. Keep all accounts ie. c/c, loans, mortgages in order
4. Be patient. It takes time for a good repayment history to be reflected in your credit report.
We know all this already , so just keep doing what your doing .0 -
They need to bring out more sub prime cards for us to apply for ;p0

Yeah I will and hopefully this time next year when my 2 defaults drop off my credit file will be clean and I would have had a year on sub prime cards so should be able to start applying for mainstream. Well thats if I can get the dmp note removed with nids help0 -

Guess you've not heard anything back, regards the letter you sent then? I'd say give them at least 1 week after the deadline, then i'd look to consider enforcement. Ball-ache but may be only option, lets hope the letter scares them into submission - they cannot win mate, you will get the dmp removed in line with their promise.
Just remember to keep me updated....2010 - year of the troll

Well I sent the second letter to the other address with the new second paragraph that you did for me special delivery so that should arrive tuesday. So I will give them a week after the 1st of june deadline and will see what they decide to do.
They have never said outright they wouldnt remove it but they have never said much to be honest.
Well I am prepared to do whatever it takes to get it removed. Its unfair really as by next May I will have a clean credit report except for that.
Cheers again btw0 -
Hi all,
I applied for a Vanquis card last week, i've been away for the weekend and today my dad told me I had a call from them on Saturday! They left a number for me to call. Anyway I rang them and i've been accepted, this will be my first credit card :j
One thing, they set up a direct debit for minimum payment each month. How does this work as i'll be wanting to pay off in full? Can I ring them up once I get the card and ask them to change the DD so i'll be paying it off in full?0 -

well done on being accepted - what was your limit and apr? Limit is determined by the cash they would have offered when you spoke to them, £200 means £250 limit, £400 means £500 limit
Yes, ring Vanquis and tell them you wish to pay off in full, not the minimum. You can also fire direct payments over whenever you want from your bank or send cheques in to them.2010 - year of the troll

Thanks N-I-DI think she said my apr was 50% something... and my limit was £250. I'm mainly using it to boost my credit rating up to be honest.
What happens if I stick to the minimum payment DD? How do they work it? Do they take the min payment out if I haven't paid by a certain date? I will be wanting to pay in full, i'm just unsure how it works.
Thanks again, you've been a great help throughout the thread :beer:0 -
Actually, payments was something I wanted to ask.
I have requested full payment by direct debit but also want to fire off payments as and when I have the cash. So, if I fire off money before the statement date, it should appear on the statement, thereby reducing the balance and the full amount payable? Thats obvious, but if I receive the statement and then fire off some money thus reducing the balance, would the full payment they take equal the amount on the statement or the current now lower balance?0 -
i have never used my vanquis card, have only had it since november though so dont want to cancel it yetTHANK MEEE:j0
