It's only £250 limit........and they accepted my application, whereas all the others said..'get lost'
I say that's THUMBS UP for Vanquis....at least they give people a chance to improve their credit rating to getting a better card at a better rate further along the line (and Cap 1 too, in my circumstance)
Thank you Vanquis!0 -

Thank you Vanquis!
Congratulations
Yep, i'm loving the sub-prime card companies too :T. Another 12-18 months of them, then hopefully i'm onto the mainstream cards.0 -

I got a Vanquis card through the post yesterday
They did not telephone me at home (well, there were no left messages from them), or at my work number or on my mobile.. btw
Card and welcome pack was on the mat when I got home.
I activated it today! :T
Well done Dosh, I'm really pleased for you!0 -
Congratulations

Thanks Bigbum
You WILL get the mainstream cards eventually, if you are already sensible with the Sub Prime, which no doubt your are.
Just hang on in there!0 -

Sure thing . I've turned over a new leaf, and i'm determined to have all debts cleared by this time next year. My 2 defaults should be gone by August 2010 and a few months after that i'll be applying for mainstream cards.
Hope your plans to be debt-free work out too :T0 -
Im hoping to be on mainstream cards as well in 12 months! Lets see what happens this time next year, lolOfficial SOS Club number 014 - Dry until 29.11.090

Hi Guys, just wanted to say its good to persevere. I've had my Vanquis for nearly a year. It started with a £250 limit, then increased to £750, and I just received my statement today and they have upped the limit again to £1250 :T
I have 2 defaults and with this and other cards i'm slowly getting my credit rating up. Yay to Vanquis!!0 -
I just got my 3rd statement through the post, included was a leaflet called "Watch your Credit Limit Grow" - A guide to improving your credit limit. At the bottom of my statement is a printed message stating "As from July - you may start receiving credit card cheques" - my DW is convinced that they will up my limit next month, though I think the leaflet is a hint that I wont. I have paid my bill in full well before the payment is due for the last 3 months, in fact this months payment was made before my statement even arrived!
Anyone else get the leaflet/printed message just before a CL increase?Official SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090 -

I got the same leaflet yesterday with my 2nd statement. But there was nothing about credit card cheques. Maybe there's an increase for you on the horizon .
