I got my vanquis call today. £250 limit. Bummer! Not as generous as Capital One for me then. Suppose its better than a decline though :)

    Hello all

Can anyone explain to me why Vanquis take so long to process payments. If I pay a small amount it takes three days to appear.I paid on Monday by debit card a large amount but it is still in my bank account.

I have been making payments via online banking (Faster Payments) and find that it clears within 2-3 days. If your bank offers Faster Payments you may find it clears quicker when you pay using this method.

I didn't know you could pay your Vanquis Card online?!! I've been using telephone banking for it which takes just as long i feel

You need online banking via your own bank to make the payment

    Over the Phone or Online:
Via your bank’s telephone or internet banking service, you can make a one off payment or set up a standing order. Simply quote the following details: (1) Your Vanquis 16 digit card account number (2) Our sort code: 20-11-81 and (3) Our bank account number: 50409510. Please allow 3-5 working days for your payment to reach your account via this method.

Also, if you make a payment over the phone to a rep and they are able to give you an Auth code - why can't the payment be allocated immediatley? Any clues anyone?

  • hii all, i applied for a vanquis card 4 times! the first 3 times i was refused!!??!! because i have no credit history and i am only just 18?! im confused lol  i have applied again (4th time) and hopefully i will be accepted as they are processing my application. fingers crossed!

btw! does anyone know where i can get a simple credit card?? i am 18, a single mum on benefits with the hope of returning to work, recently moved address and i have no credit history. i keep getting turned down for store cards, credit cards and most loans. a simple credit card i can manage would be nice and would help when i am caught short on cash at the end of the week. any ideas people?

    thanx, tasha:o

You could always try BarclayCard Credit Builder, the only thing with this card is that you need to apply at a Barclays Bank branch. The credit limits start very low, but that's a good thing, as the monthly bill will be affordable, if you pay the balance in full each month you will build up a good credit history and will be in a position to apply for a more mainstream card in about a years time.
