    Im having a Boy!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS :beer::beer::beer:

Can I ask a favour, just read you work for HSBC, assume I ring first direct for an account and they provisionally offer me a CC with a high limit, is this based on my internal HSBC score or an external credit score? If you know what I am asking lol

I'm a HSBC customer and have a high internal score (got told it was in 80's) so applied over fone for a HSBC card and they sent to underwriting - obviously this has flagged my credit report. Would they let my account standing with them override bad data from credit file do you think?

I have o/d but have never used it to date.

    cheers me dears....

    Thanks fr the congrats :j

If you're applying for a HSBC CC then the fact you get the card depends on both your credit score with the CRA AND the internal score but with the fact you 'behavioural score' (internal score) is in the 80's, they would most probably override the system decision (which is based on your external CRA search) as they have evidence of your behaviour towards your finances.

If you're a HSBC customer applying for a first direct CC and/or C/A, depending on the person thats actually asessing your application is whether you get accepted or not!

If its been referred at account opening and you were declined because of a missed payment on your credit file it will just show on our system as Reject- Failed scoring or Refer- failed scoring contact CUU (central underwriting unit) who in turn can look at everything and can tell us exactly why you're application was flagged and then we can then tell you (within reason) what we can give you. Half the time CUU make the final decision and half the time its down to people like moi 'your customer advisor'

Its only sometimes that HSBC accounts can have a positive effect on your application for first direct products and visa versa

But you should be ok, if you have been referred CUU might just say they can only offer you a lower limit or if your salary doesnt go into your HSBC account they will ask for payslips and if you have unusual payments coming in and out of your account they might just ask you to justify them.

Hope this help! You can ask me anything you want. I have 3 weeks off work before im back at work so PM me and we can discuss things further if you wish

    LOL

    Thanks but i'm cool.

It's my own fault i fell into debt. Had i comitted myself, i could have had all my debts paid off years ago. But alas, i prefered to spend my money on holidays and other frivoulos stuff :o.

So the chickens have come home to roost (is that correct?) and i've decided to take responsiblity. Instead of burying my head in the sand, i'm actually pay off the stoopid things .

Happily, my debts are all manageable, and if i keep things as they've been for the last 5 months, everything will be paid in full this time next year :T.

    Cheers for asking though

Looking at your sig your credit looks fine - what is wrong with your credit file then?

I was off work end of last year which is how i got my missed payments and it dropped my credit score dramatically and its been 6 months and my score still has not picked up so im trying to build it back up but with capital one not increasing my c/c limit that doesnt help and i want to get a card that gradually increases my limit to show im credit worthy and responsible. HSBC wont increase my c/c either because when i was off sick my pay was cut in half and my internal score dropped and it will take about 6 months from now before they'll consider me for an increase or anything!
