I got a call from them today after applying last weds saying they need further address details as they need 5 years worth from me, so I've given them these.
Thing is I was credit checked last weds after the application, so will they do this again? She said a decision hasn't been made yet but they will be in touch?
I hate waiting why can;t they give you an instant answer!!! So impatient!!
Who is asking for 5yrs proof of address? NO lender needs this, they base decisions on 3yrs and never need more than this - i'd be asking why and for what purpose being the CCA has no provision for them to ask for 5yrs address history.
Credit checks are usually done once but a lender can and some do, perform addiitional checks after you return forms. For instance O2 seem to do 3 searches, Barclays do 2 and RBS usually search once when you apply and once when you return forms.
However the above can change case by case but Aqua usually do one search.....
Regards to waiting - with sub prime no news is definitely good news!2010 - year of the troll

Where and what application? Mine has 3 and I have it in front of mate - CC and Bank?
Am I reading wrong place......
they can ask, you do not have to supply - just give them 3 and leave it at that. Personally, i'd never disclose my previous, previous address as it is irrelevant to them.2010 - year of the troll

But from what Vanquis are saying...I can still be declined if I send in my proof of address so whats the point of proving it? Surely they can tell me whether its an accept on the condition i prove i live at this current address or a simple no because proof of address doesnt make a difference?Official SOS Club number 014 - Dry until 29.11.090

Just to let you all know that Vanquis generally always tell people that they will be in touch or give an instant decline or instant accept. Therefore please don;t think that a 'we'll be in touch in 10 days' as a bad thing - it may not be!
Just be patient, dont ring and give it 3 weeks and wait and see - you'll usually start to see an influx of missed calls which mean it's usually a yes! Then you can ring the number back and go through PPI sales pitch and then find out your limit.
