Daft question. But for a really really daft non-excuse, I feel a bit wary of actually calling them to activate my card (I think though, more for "I have credit!" reasons or they'll tell me its been a mistake.)

What do they actually ask you when activating? I assume a hard PPI sell (I am good at saying no), but anything else to expect.

Don't worry, Skylight. They'll just verify your personal details are correct on your account etc and try to get you take-up PPI , but otherwise there's nothing else.

If for some reason they do say you shouldn't have the card and there's been a terrible mistake, come back to this board for further advice. The brainiacs will help you with a template for a polite but strongly worded letter of appeal :D.

Just joking it won't come to that, you'll be fine. Now go activate and have fun  :T.

It is a PPI sell, but not a hard one. The lady I spoke to sounded like an air hostess reading a (long) speech off a card. I let her talk (she's only doing her job), then just said "not at the moment, thanks" and she just told me to ring customer services if I changed my mind. Same for the cash advance. I said no thanks, she said no problem, ring if I change my mind.

Well, that was an 11 minute phone call!

He just reeled off the speech card and a polite no. We did have a little set too over my mobile number as I refused to give it to him - he said that he already had it and I replied that the online application demands one, so I made it up and I don't own a mobile. I did give them my home phone number.

Also set up the direct debit to ensure the balance is paid off in full every month and I confirmed that if that happened then I would not be charged interest. He said that I would not be charged interest on card purchases, but would be charged for cash advances as that is calculated daily (not taking cash advances).

I am really happy. I have a back up that I see as a back up not £250 to go shopping on! Not telling OH about it though as he had never curbed his spending habits...

I applied on the 5th and heard nothing back. Got a telephone number from this thread and called them and they gave me another number to call 0800 019 0905. Called the number, got put on hold for about 5 mins to be told that I will receive a phonecall with the decision as a decision has not been made yet.

It all sounded a bit funny to me, like I was being investigated for something but hey, I'll just wait for the decision. Just not used to the wait

I got a call from them today after applying last weds saying they need further address details as they need 5 years worth from me, so I've given them these.

Thing is I was credit checked last weds after the application, so will they do this again? She said a decision hasn't been made yet but they will be in touch?

I hate waiting why can;t they give you an instant answer!!! So impatient!!

Same thing that happened to me and then she said that no decision has been made, not even been pre approved so I will not be happy if I send in original documents for nothing! Im funny about things being sent in the post!

I dont think they will credit search you again, they are not allowed to do that I think
