Ok that's a confusing comment you made.

    you just said

    then you said

so how can you say they are upgrading you then straight after say perhaps they no longer do it?

unless you mean there was "NO" mention of it been upgraded?

Hope you don't get a gold anyway. they hike APR up *_*

Sorry, made a typo... That should have read there was no mention of it being upgraded to a gold card (from the regular card) :o

With all this mentioning of Vanquis gold card, Is it literally a gold card they give you when you recieve a £1500+ credit limit?
Or is it just a case of the customer being upgraded to gold account status.

I have just the normal card which I reorder last month (due to my last card being lost). They sent me the same ordinary card dispite being a gold account customer.

I thought that the card that I had reordered after being reported lost would be a brand new card with a new expire date and a gold one to boot.
They sent me the same card back with an expiry date of next month (exact same details as my old one I reported lost, start date 3 years ago, expiry date of next month).

I thought maybe when this card expires, they'll send out the new gold card.

Just thought somebody might have had an experience of actually recieving a Vanquis gold card literally. :)

How long did you have the card before you got an increase?

    3 or 4 months

not always, I know someone who was given a gold upgrade and Vanquis dropped the APR from 49.9% to 34.9% when they were upgraded.

Hmmm, now you are asking, I think it must have been 3 or 4 months ago. Maybe even longer. I only remember it because the letter had a daily rate listed and he asked me if I could convert to APR for him, I didn't pay all that much attention to exactly when, just the APR drop stuck in my mind.

In most cases it's just a different colour card as a reward for operating the account responsibly over a period of time. The actual details of the card account - APR and credit limit - are often no different to the normal card at the time of issue but there can be further credit limit increases.

At one time Vanquis provided several different cards all of which were combined into one card but the gold was reintroduced as an ongoing credit limit increase over the maximum of the normal card. When the gold card could be applied for it had a maximum credit limit of £2,000 whereas the normal card's maximum at the time of application is £1,000.

Hi, does anyone know how long it takes for vanquis to ring you once you apply for a card? I applied online on saturday and got a message they'd call me and sent me a credit agreement via email, does this mean i've been accepted? Should I wait to hear back or call them and if so does anyone know the number I need to call
