I applied for a vanquis card on the 4th January and have received an email with the credit agreement terms and conditions in but so far haven't heard from them either by phone or post.

When I applied online it said my application was being referred and also I notice that my credit file has been searched by them on the 12th January... Does anyone know how long it might take for it to process and whether it sounds likely that it will go through?

I dont want a card with a high limit on, just one i could use for the odd time bank balance is running low and money not going in for a few days, I would be paying off the balance in full each time as I know the interest rates can be quite high.

    Thanks

    Rachel

Your lucky, i applied like 1 - 2 weeks before then, and they are messing around with my application, i phoned them up and they said they are still processing it, blood ridiculous.
  • i applied on 16th jan and today got a letter in the post asking for my id to be sent to them, i'm shocked that it was this quick although i know that it'll probably take ages for it to arrive lol

When I applied for my Granite card it was around 4 weeks later that they called me to say I had been accepted, I had actually forgotton about it and just thought I had been rejected again. Although it was only about 5 days after the call that the card arrived. So sometimes no news can be good news.

Were you a min guy or ?

Sorry don't understand! Are you asking if I made the minimuim only then the answer is no. I almost cleared it in full every month, just let them make a wee bit of interest from me.

The thought of interest on £2500 is almost making me break out in a sweat!!
  • Hi this is the first time I have posted here, although I have been on this site hundreds of times trying to educate myself on how to rebuild my awful credit score. I saw this thread about Vanquis and thought Id give it a shot, despite being turned down for both Capital One and Aqua in the last few months. I applied for a Vanquis yesterday and had the 'we will contact you in 10-14 days' reply come up at the end of my application. I wasn't hopeful, but today they called me and Ive been accepted :j so happy that now I have the opportunity to finally sort myself out after years of thinking that it would never happen. Best thing about it is I have never even really had 'credit' as such, but just got myself into trouble as a student with a student overdraft and a mobile phone contract (paying them now.) So just thought id post here and say thanks as if it wasnt for this thread Id have never even heard of Vanquis and it might have been years until I would have had the opportunity to get some green Os on my credit report :T
