  • I have just had a call from Vanquis asking me for my bank details so that they can validate my details, I applied for a car with them on the 4th January.

They have done a search on my credit file and have said in the phone call today that I will hear from them by letter in the next 2 weeks with a final decision.

Does this sound likely that I will be accepted?

im one of the guys that has been stung by vanquis's large interest rates, got the card in 08/09 kept up payments until i had an mot fail on the car, having no money to one side, i popped it onto the CC taking the total to approx £700 - then i started struggling for fuel and went up to £800 on it, then i cut the card into little biddy peices and told vanquis i have destroyed the card...started paying back interest with about £25 on top, but it would only knock off £2 of the debt, vanquis then hiked my interest rate up and that was the straw that broke the camels back..im now owing £1700 odd just because of interest alone and struggling to keep up rapidly growing repayments after several requests for an interest freeze...

takes guts to admit to that, but thanks for the warning on how easy it can be done.

Mine took three weeks (PIN arrived after two weeks) but then my card was an unusual colour - I think if you go for blue or silver they don't take as long..but I'm just going by various thoughts on here..
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.
  • For a call, asked to confirm household income
And my job, got told I was excepted, had the ppi speech, turned, got told my interest rate was 39.9% and card would take 14 days:)
