I'm half a sleep and didn't see that part, but would they of Credit searched me or not because I hold a Vanquis card?0
-
My wife applied before the six months were up and it said to her that she had already applied for a Vanquis card and to re apply in June.
She looked at her credit file and no search was made so I think with you already having one of their credit cards their system would have not gone any further so no search would have been made.
When you inputted your details it would have instantly picked up your details and declined you so no search would have been made as it wouldn't have been able to go onto the next step so no credit search.
You apply for a credit card with them and it checks to see if you have one and if a code comes back no then it runs the credit check.
That's when the computers normally blows up with meI'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
Checked my Credit File today with experian and it had jumped 37 points after Vanquis reported my account opening with them.My score was 720 last week, which was poor, with little credit history apart from from a phone contract. Now its at 757 which is fair.kinda tempts me to try and see which other credit cards i can be accepted for now that i am subhuman.:j0

Thats strange as since my card is been reported to experian Ive gone from fair to poor due to a number of factors, account not been open for longer than 10 months, highest limits in the past are now lower than what I have and more bits.
So now I have a card and my history is worst but I know it will take time to let the card have the posistive impact Im sure it will have.
At least I can now make a positive impact to getting my file back to normality.
I wrote a while ago that I didnt need credit but I felt by not having it I was seen as not normal to the world(silly I know). So actually feel better that someone gave me a chance to prove i am resposible(think that was my issue) as my problems were down to a failed business due to other companies going bust and no help from the banks.

I got more points on, "The usage of your available credit indicates a lower risk"
I assume since it is a new card and i had not yet used the card yet.0 -
I'm going to struggle to meet my payment this month (for the first time ever since having a Vanquis Card for over 3 years). I am going to contact them as I dont' want to have a missed payment - however I just thought I would ask if anyone here had ever had to contact them for the same thing? And are they helpful etc?
I've not contacted them about missing payments, but I have paid the bill late by a few days, twice in the past 2 years and they have not once put a missed payment on my credit files. Though they have charged me £12 for the late payment on both occassions. Everytime I've used the callcentre they've been really helpful.0 -
Well at long last I received the letter today confirming my credit limit will rise to £1250 from £500 after my February statement.
In brief:
- had the card six months
- always paid in full at statement time
- highest ever balance £378 (but I always left a headroom just in case)
This new limit is going to be very useful - I use the card for business travel which I then claim back and £500 just wasn't enough for a whole month - £1250 is going to be..Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
Who says Vanquis doesn't give increases on demand?
I've had my account for 9 months with zero increases so I wrote an email to mr. Crook and I recieved a letter today from them stating that they are fully aware i'm unhappy and I have been "selected" for a credit limit increase because of this, another letter is coming in afew days time to say how much by.
So if you're unhappy send an e-mail to them and they should sort it out for anyone else
Also any idea how much my limit would be bumped by? Currently i'm at £150 so I'm hoping for £5000 -
just applied for a vanquis card after being declined 3 months ago and was accepted.
on the phon they stated that if i elected not to set up a direct debit for the minimum amount then that could affect the desicion that is made. so i let them set it up
im going to cancel the direct debit when i get the card and pay anything off in full anyhow
so within the past 2 months i have got an aqua mastercard, capital one visa card and a vanquis visa card too...:D0 -
