I got declined for Capital One a year ago and Vanquish and now I have applied for a Very account and been accepted straight away.
So I really do not know what the differences in criteria are. I am going to use the Very account accordingly and hope this can improve my credit.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

This has maybe already been asked in this post but it's sooooo long.
I'm going to struggle to meet my payment this month (for the first time ever since having a Vanquis Card for over 3 years). I am going to contact them as I dont' want to have a missed payment - however I just thought I would ask if anyone here had ever had to contact them for the same thing? And are they helpful etc?0 -
I have just paid off my Vanquis- I have a credit limit of £2,250 on there and i dont intend to use it again- would it be better for my credit rating to close it?Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

I applied for credit cards with Vanquis and Capital one and was turned down then applied for JD Williams and Simply Be and was accepted and after six months of payments applied again to Vanquis and Capital and was accepted so the catalogue does helpidristhedragon wrote: »I have just paid off my Vanquis- I have a credit limit of £2,250 on there and I don't intend to use it again- would it be better for my credit rating to close it?
If its been opened for a long time I would leave it open as lenders like to see accounts that have been opened a long time and it also counts towards your credit score as well.
When you open a new account your credit score drops until you've had it 12-18 months then your score recovers and improves slightly.
Your score is made up of Payment history is 35% Debt level is 30% Length of credit history 15% Inquiries are 10% Mix of credit is 10%

I've got a question if anyone would know the asnwer.
I applied for a Granite card earlier but got instant rejection because I already hold a Vanquis card account, would they of Credit Searched me or instant failed me upon a Vanquis check? I never clicked to sign or saw any T&C.just after I put in my name, address & household income in it came up as sorry we're unable to offer you a card at the moment due to you already holding a card with Vanquis bank.0 -
Application criteria
Detail Only apply if you are: - Aged 18 or over
- UK resident
- Are not currently declared bankrupt
- Do not already hold a Vanquis credit card
I don't think they would have done a credit search with their system detecting you already had a credit card with them.I'm not poor i'm just skint0
