btw, they sold me CCP, and the thing to freeze the account in case I loose job.. definetely gonna cancel both!
Mine clears the next day. Only got a tiny limit. £250. I can spend that in a few days, I then make a payment, it hits my account at midnight the next day, I use my card again the next day. (i pay using online banking) (and check evanquis to check its hit my account)
So lets say your in the middle of your statement period, you have used say £450 of your limit, you have £50 available. And you have £450 in the bank, make a online payment of £450.00, check it the next day at midnight. If it shows, electronic payment recieved £450 balance 0 available £500, you can start spending again. Or send them say £250.00 ? it will give you £300 available again to spend. So make a payment say now. Check on evanquis tomorrow night or friday morning and it should be their. If it is you can spend again. I make numerous payments throughout the month. Unless I pay on a friday, it hits my account midnight the day after, if its a friday it takes until monday at midnight. I never wait until my online statement arrives. A couple of days ago, I was out, I put £20 in petrol into my car, I came home, and later that evening I made a payment for £20 to vanquis. I won £10 on the lottery last month, put it in my bank and sent it straight to vanquis. It's to tempting to say, I'll keep the cash in the bank until statement day. So whilst you have to wait until the payments reach your account, the moment it does, you can re spend. Only had my card 3 months now, never spent any cash at all since then, everything goes onto my card. But I have to make lots of monthly payments as my limits only £250. Probably spend around £500 a month on it, but without exceeding my limit. Hoping soon that vanquis will see that I make regular payments, that I use my card all the time, and hope that they will increase my limit to at least £500, I would be very happy with that, and even more happy if I had a card with a 1k limit at least. I'll have to wait and see what happens. Paying vanquis, is one bill I never worry about paying, because it's there again the next day to use and is interest free, because I never inccur charges.0 -

Mine is the same, saying dd of £55 taken on the 13th, and nothing has gone from my bank account, I only went to check my evanquis as I could see the DD had not gone out. Tried to phone but it is the consent engaged tone.
No idea why the payment has not gone out as the money is there.:beer:0 -

This is why I don't use dd, far easier to pay using online banking.0 -

Check again after midnight tonight to see if its left your account. Just don't spend the £55 if it has not.
Once the DD goes through, cancel the DD and pay using online banking.0 -

mine is 250£ too.. I opted to that as I didn't want too much credit! but now I think 500£ would have been slightly better... on the phone the guy said i'd have 500..but then I got the card and it said 250 limit... I suppose they gave me what I chose at first lol0 -
i actually applied online for one of these around just over a week ago out of curiosity, finished it waiting for a decision, few days later just got a pre acceptance pack in the post .. i thought i'd hear decision from them over phone after my online application .. i sent the postal one too anyway, how long roughly do they take to get back???
obviously its a grim sign that i've chose one of these but i want to get things built up again on my credit and thats one of the things really, as i have started to clear most other debts from past ... any feedback appreciated but this thread is too big to search for general answer ha ha!0 -
Got card in Feb - 500 limit - just got the letter saying they're raising the limit.
(and no, I'm not going to be spending it other than in dire emergencies).
I setup the card to clear the whole balance by DD, and have typically hit 250-450 on the balance at the end of the month.
A couple of months ago, I got on the electoral roll, and an old debt dropped off credit file.
However, a statute barred debt for 6K is just about to fall off in a couple of months - at which time I should be able to apply for a card with a lower APR.0 -
in the new score of how vanquis manage to make mistakes
Evanquis shows a DD payment on the 13th of £99
Bank shows no record of so called DD being taken
I now owe less cos of this mistakenope seperate Bank account for DD's that has more than the minimum that will go out in there.
Plus With my bank i can tell when DD's are going out next working Day.
The DD is set to go out 2moro for me0 -
Hi, my direct debit has still not left my bank account. Yet my evaquis statement still states it was taken on the 13th. Still have not been able to get them on the phone.
I did get a letter a few weeks back saying they were changing their originators number but it would not effect anything else, just seems strange not payment has gone from my bank account.
Is this happening to anyone else?:beer:0
