I got the phone call and approved with £500 limit on 27/5 but havent heard from them since...now getting concerned as others have recently stated here cards have turned up in a week. This is my first card since IVA so really have my hopes up...hope they haven't changed their minds or just given me a provisional decision.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0

Just cancel your Direct Debit(s) to them and pay online. I also use the Co Op bank. Even though when you make a payment it gives a payment reason code of B.... Which means it will take up to three days to reach vanquis, it always gets to them and shows on your account at midnight the following day.
You don't have to have a DD set up to have a vanquis card.0 -
Probably the wrong place to ask, but heres hoping someone can answer. I'm paying off a old provi loan, and I am not in arrears. I pay every two weeks. So I am always a week in advance. On my last payment date. Two weeks ago Monday. I was unable to make a payment. My debit card wouldn't work in the atm, reason it was damaged. I told my agent, whom asked me to phone her when my new debit card arrived. (I couldn't go to the branch, my nearest bank branch is about 75 miles away. My card arrived the other day. I called her, and she came out, I made the two weeks payment when she called. I asked if this would go against me and she told me her print out shows arrears stage 2, but that was okay and would correct it's self when she takes the money to the office. My concern is, I don't want my experian file marked with a (1) all my provi part of my CRA file shows. loads of zeros which is great. Does anyone know if provi will put a so called black mark on my file. I've seen on other threads that whilst provi collect weekly, that some folks pay fortnightly or even monthly. I know over easter they sent a letter out asking if I wanted another loan and also it said don't be caught out this bank holiday, if you miss seeing your agent, just put the payment to one side untill you see her or him next time they call. Obviously I paid over easter. But they basically were saying they were okay with folks who may of been away. Can someone please tell me, if provi will wreck my CRA file for the next 6 years by not marking it 0 due to being 10 days late, due to waiting for my new debit card. I so hope that they will not. Thanks0

I called today the number they used to call me all the time and it worked! btw I've been approved with a £500 limit, thing is.. he was so persistent and he wanted me to pay by dd ..the minimum amount every month! even tho I said I wanted to pay in full, I was a bit scared tho that he'd reject my application if I kept going against him. so I agreed at the end, but is there a way to change it and pay in full every month? I don't wanna end up paying a ridiculous amount on interest..I Understand why he said, oh it's better minimum amount..yeh, FOR YOU!
then he went to PPI, that I rejected but he sold another thing that I didn't really get and it was about paper statements and mobile thing, sold for 1.9% of the total amount of the bill... what the hell is that? i need the paper statements and stuff, but anyways, is it possible to cancel it?
I rejected right away the cash in advance saying I didn't need it! then he went on and on and on...0 -
You can alter the statement preference in your online account easily enough.0

Before I call Vanquis and ask can anymore confirm if it is normal for them to set-up two direct debits under different reference numbers, the first one appeared to them with the reference number being my card number and today another has appeared with a reference number that looks nothing like a card number and is about 5 digits longer.
Just wondering if i should cancel the second one, but dont want to end up cancelling it only to find it is a bank issue and required. It is on a Co-op bank a/c if that makes a difference.
Hi all - Vanquis are in the process of sending letters explaining that the d/d references are due to change. Until then, they are asking people not to cancel either one.BCSC Member 70:j

1) You can cancel the diredt debit. Do it after you get the card, not that it will make any difference.
2) Sign up to evanquis and cancel paper statements, you can print your own statements off.
3) The PPI ? Is something which I don't think anyone on this forum would have.0 -
I have paper statements and they send me a text about how much limit I have left but I have never been charged for this?!?0
