still had no credit limit increase with vanquis - does any1 have any tips

How long have you had it? What have your spending patterns been like? How do you pay? How much do you pay? DO you have a direct debit setup? What was your initial credit limit?

Not really TBH you seem to be doing everything right I have seen a few threads on here about this, the "general" theme seems to be increases on 4th statement but it does appear this does not happen to everybody, I was just reading in another thread about 1 person who has just had their first credit limit increase from 250 to 500 and it took 12 months! I would love to know how their computer decides when it happens :(

I too have a £250 limit and due to get my 4th statement around 10th December so we will see.......................

Just carry on doing what you are doing I am sure it will increase eventually :(

Well then congrats! You're the first person I know who didn't give a landline who got approved :)

What limit, interest rate etc did you get?
  • I want to make an application to vanquis but I dont have a landline. If I use my work number they wont call me there will they? My boss wont be impressed by me getting personal calls at work
  • RE : LANDLINE

If you need a landline oyu can get a landline number free (Any area code in the UK), just go to www.sipgate.co.uk sign up free and they will let you pick a free landline number in any UK area code,

You can either download the software free and get the voice calls on your PC or you can just let voicecalls go to an answerphone and have the messages emailed to your email address

Its totally free for all incomming calls etc, its only if you make outgoing calls with it you get chaged about 1p a min, but there is no reason to do so, and you dont need to give them any payment details when you sign up

  • Ive just applied and been given the old:

Thank you for your application for a Vanquis Visa Card. Unfortunately we are unable to give you an instant decision, but we'll be in touch within 10-14 working days.

    Is that a bad sign?

I had exactly the same last week. I had a missed call the following day just after 8.00am. I returned the call a little later and he went through a security check on the phone asked a few more questions salary, telephone no etc. And then gave me the good news that I had been accepted with this credit limit and apr etc. I recieved my card yesterday so just waiting for me pin and away we go. Good luck!!
