Oh you have a GAIN? That needs to be sorted before you'll get anywhere!

You need to raise a complaint in writing with capital one about this, they've failed to deliver on their reduced settlement and falsely recorded GAIN data.

Write to them requesting removal of this data :o

er whats a GAIN. Never heard of this and how do i get it removed

    Hi
GAIN...Gone away information network implies that you moved without giving your lender(s) a forwarding address...A POLITE way of saying that you did a runner :rotfl:
You need to contact Cap One to get it removed asap OR the relevant DCA, as it is regarded as pretty serious 'adverse' data when applying for credit.
Complain in writing then refer to ICO if no satisfactory outcome.
    Good luck with it :D

No it's you might need to by other means - I've never had to on any of my cards. If your statement has something indicating that a direct debit will be taken then you don't need to do anything.

oh aswell, when I checked my report, 2 searches from Halifax have been made on Thursday 26/08/10, I would never apply with them with my credit the way it is, wonder what that was about?!!!! Any ideas?

Have you applied for an Aqua card? These are run by Halifax and appear on your credit file as a halifax search / account :o

If I were you I'd raise a notice of dispute via Experian to get the second Halifax search removed - unless one of them is a "Unrecorded Enquiry" or "Identification: Generic Check" in which case you can ignore - it won't be visible to other creditors :o

just checked my experian and it says both checks are for a credit card, exactly the same day, but 1 doesn't have my time at address on! maybe they didnt run a proper check the first time or something?

    They didn't ring me.

I actually put down false phone numbers on my application as I didn't expect to get one and I didn't want my details banded about. I did give them a real number when I activated the card though.

Hello, I'm quite new to this forum and just read your post, I did the same, ten days ago with the false numbers, when I read more about them i rang them 2 days later with the correct ones, making up a story as to why they didnt get them in the first place, the lady said they had tried to call and got someone else and someone would call me back the next day. Four days later I still hadn't heard anything and rang them to be told a decision hadn't been made. did they just send out your card without talking then? how long did it take? Its driving me mad now beause I just want to re-build my credit, but they are just not helpful!

Last week I posted here saying my limit was increased to £2,250. Well I got something through the post letting me know I had now hit "gold status" and I then got a gold credit card in the post to replace my current one. Apparently the APR is the same and min payments etc are all the same but now I have the gold card and a telephone number that puts me through to them quicker. Anyone else get this?
