Does anyone know if I'm able to use it without the PIN (which is meant to arrive in next few days)? I only want to use it for petrol. Do CCs use the Chip/PIN system like debit cards, or can we still sign for purchases? Hmmmm, can anyone tell that I've not had a CC in years?!
I have a few times but you aren't really meant to (like most cards). Why can't you just use the pin though? Even setting it to a stupidly easy number to remember would probably be more secure than a signature.0 -

my ccj (the scottish version i forget what its called) was paid 4 days after the 30 day period unfortunately
Ah you mean a decree?
Are you on the electoral role? How many times have you applied for credit in the last six months? Prior to getting your Vanquis card, did you (recently) have any active credit accounts?
If you didn't have an active credit account showing payment history, and / or weren't on the electoral role and / or you applied for lots of things in a short time frame, these would cause you to be declined even if the adverse history is no longer on your credit fileCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

hi thereyes it says ive been on the electoral role for 3 years, i have only applied for the three phone, and the credit report is showing as 4 old defaults and 2 current,
no mention of the decree
only thing thats bothering me is i had a capital one credit card which i paid a settlement figure of around half the balance, but this is still showing as outstanding at £171 and says i have 'gone away with no forwarding address' but they said they would mark that as settled once i paid (which i did) and im still at the same address i held the card at0 -
Yikes .... just been passed my local 99p Store and Vanquis Sales Rep's were at the Entrance trying to sign new customers Credit Card up :rotfl:

Hi Callum, I would have used the PIN but it hasn't arrived in the post yet. It's cool, I'll wait until I get it (prob be sometime next week). I want to use it for petrol over the month and then pay the balance of in full each month.0

well checked my experian report and vanquis did a credit search on the 21st, the same day they said they tried to call but had the wrong number! Yesterday the lady said no decision has been made yet so I'm going to take it as a decline, then I won't be dissapointed! Not expecting to hear from them anytime soon!0

oh aswell, when I checked my report, 2 searches from Halifax have been made on Thursday 26/08/10, I would never apply with them with my credit the way it is, wonder what that was about?!!!! Any ideas?0

Oh you have a GAIN? That needs to be sorted before you'll get anywhere!
You need to raise a complaint in writing with capital one about this, they've failed to deliver on their reduced settlement and falsely recorded GAIN data.
