Far more chance of getting a realistic limit in time though. Capital one = very low limit followed by one increase, Aqua= lowish limit then beg for an increase after 6 months.
Would appear that Vanquis customers, ignoring the stupidly high rates of interest are more likely to get a grown up limit as a reward for good account management. Swings and roundabouts

I held a vanquis card for 12 months. Several months I cleared in full, several I left a balance, some I maxed the card, some I spend little.

Every month the account was kept within its limit and every month I paid on time.

I did not get a single limit increase. However I got two when I held an Aqua card in the same time.

Vanquis just been increased to £1250 :j
Also just applied and got Cap One £200 and Aqua £350.

Vanquis increased my limit, two days after I applied and was accepted for the other two, this after 8 months wthout an increase! Coincidence? :D
Capital one £200 - bal nil. Aqua £350 - bal nil
    Vanquis limit [STRIKE]£250[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £1250 - bal £450. Nat West overdraft limit - £300, unused. JD Willaims limit [STRIKE]£400 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE] £600 [/STRIKE] £900 - bal £90.
Very limit £400 - balance £329 (buy now pay 2011!)

If you miss their call when they call you does that mean they automatically decline your application. If so that would explain a lot as to why I had been declined?

I missed their call, but had received a text earlier that morning, I phoned that number when I got home from work and was told I'd been accepted. I think other people have said as soon as they send you the "we will call you today" message, you've been accepted.

Hey all, I recieved the 'we wil call you later this afternoon to process your app' this morning after applying last night. They said it would be this afternoon but I have not heard anything yet. What time do they call up until? Thanks

Very strange when many posters on here report regular limit increases. Obviously something on your credit report that scared them off, my guess being the discharged bankruptcy. Giving somebody a chance with a low limit is a risk in itself if the account holder has suffered financial problems but you cannot get more problematic than bankruptcy. Just the way it is infortunately and not saying that I agree with many lenders policies as the full facts should be taken into account. Redundancy or illness can all contribute and unavoidable. If however a person is fooolish and simply grabs every credit line available without a second though then a different story.

So been patiently waiting for my call today, my patience run out at half 7 so gave them a call, no decision has been made, even though I received the 'we will be calling this afternoon to process you app' text. The lovely woman I spoke to advised me that there had been no one on the call back dept all afternoon. Do they call on Saturdays?
