At a guess, Vanquis are part of the Provident Group, the loan companies wouldn't also be associated with Provident as well?
Interestingly, I had an open Provident loan when I applied and was approved for my Vanquis card. The Provident loan account was actually marked as five months in arrears on my Experian report when Vanquis did their credit search and I was still approved... MAD!!!
See this excerpt from my credit report if you find it hard to believe (I still can't quite believe it myself :P )
Go figure!Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Anyone with the old card reported it lost?
Then been sent a replacement with the new card design?0 -
Yup! Me! Got the new card last week
I made sure to report my card "Damaged" and stipulated clearly that I WANT TO KEEP MY ACCOUNT NUMBER (made up some excuse about a recurring card authorisation), otherwise they mark your old account as settled and open a new one on your credit report when issuing a new card number.
My OH has three Vanquis accounts on his credit report - Which I'm disputing with them now - as it doesn't look good I'm sure!
But still, new card design is soooooo much betterCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Same here, 10-14 days.
I applied two months ago and they turned me down in 48 hours though.
Then I also applied one year ago and it took them 20 days to say no.
I guess it depends on their load of work. Or perhaps they decline some applications as soon as they are reviewed and for other they take some time for additional checks. Who knows.
I remember I read a very good post here explaining their processing methodology.0 -
thanks a lot for the information!0
