I applied today and got the no instant decision will be in touch in 10-14 days.

Since I also applied two months ago and they say you have to wait 6 months to reapply, will they reject my application?

I know I was turned down two months ago because I had a CIFAS in my credit file. It has been now removed, so I re-applied.

I done the same, and applied after 3 months or so and was accepted but they do say if your credit file clears up to reapply so I did!

If they decline you, appeal..... they may refuse you due to system restraints so worth appealing!

Tbh I wasn't much interested in Vanquis because they don't have online account access. I did appeal to Aqua, with success, Barclaycard and Cap1 -no news yet- But not been able to check transactions and make payments online makes Vanquis less desirable for me. If they say yes, fine, otherwise who knows...

Currently I have no adverse on my credit files. Cap1 removed the CIFAS marker, and it shows 2 catalogues, 1 mobile phone and 1 bank account, all with green 0s. Also I am on Electoral Roll, so they should say yes...

Wait... too many recent searches might mean a no way... :D

Mate, what about your signature? You should be dry till 2010!!! :rotfl:

It may be your searches mate - let things die down for a few months or you'll snowball into a bad state .....

  • Got a lovely present from Vanquis this morning, 4 pretty credit card cheques, they went through my cross-cut shredder very nicely.

    Thanks but no thanks.

Vanquis haven't increased my limit yet.

I was approved at the beginning of May, 39.9% with £250 limit.

I don't clear the balance in full each month, so that they make a little money off me, but I stay well within my limit and always pay ahead of time and well over the minimum.

My last statement did show a balance of £249.77 (whoops) so I paid a massive chunk on the phone immediately! Not overlimit, not for a second, but cutting it pretty damn close there, eh!?

Wonder how long I'll be waiting for an increase... I'm being a good little boy and Aqua raised me by £100 after six months ;)

I applied for this card through Quidco and now see they have added the 25 quid to my Quidco account. Does this mean Vanquis have accepted me and have told Quidco?

I believe they only pay on successful applications.

    I will answer myself.

The transaction status is tracked* but it seems it can be denied by Vanquis if the application is unsuccessful.
  • I got my barclay card in july and then applied for a capital one which I got on the 14/09 and I applied for a vanquis card 28/09 and got declined!! Think it must be two many searches in a short period.
