Limit increaesd to £2500 on this months statement.

    Congratulations!

I'm still at £250, opened the account in May. Wonder how long I'll have to wait for first increase!

Check the interest rate on your statement - my OH's was increased to 69.9% at one point, in breach of their credit agreement which states variable from 19.9% to 59.9%

    Congrats on the limit increase.

I'm still on £250, despite no missed payments or overlimits.

Have found out that I've got 4 x "1's" on a catalogue account that belongs to my OH, which is also showing on my CR.

Am in process of trying to get them to remove them.

After being really good for the past few years i think i've finally sorted my credit file out - got my experian & equifax reports this week and all clear except one default (am going to pay that off) and today had a call from vanquis - i've been accepted for a c/card at APR 59.9% - high i know but will only buy small items and pay off straight away. Then got home to receive a letter from Capital One enclosing my pin number saying my card is on its way - god it feels good after so long of not being able to get anything but i've learnt my lesson and will stay on the right track this time.

Does anyone know if Vanquis pass on your details?

I have just been declined a Vanquis card and now I have been bombarded with phone calls from loan companies saying I have been accepted for their finance etc etc, naturally I have declined each one with a polite 'no thanks'!

Is this not a breach of the data protection act especially when I opted out of all the marketing bits and bobs on the application form!

Just applied for a vanquis card !! my question here is that I had previously applied for a vanquis card on the 24th april (the date showing up on my credit file), which was declined however they ask you to wwait for 6 months, so will they consider this new application since it's october(6th month from april) or should i have waited till the 25th of this month for (6 months date wise) ??
    Thanks in advance

Well they've actually bothered to carry out a credit check, so doesn't look like you were auto-declined.

Do you know whether they searched your Equifax file?

They didn't when I got my card at 39.9% but they did when my OH got his card at 59.9% so my guess is they will search Equifax after experian if you have a poorer score in their eyes...

... SO if they've searched EX and not EQ logic suggests you've got a better chance of being accepted / getting a good rate...

    Vanquis only search Experian .

    How old are your defaults?

Vanquis only searched experian when you and I applied perhaps, when my OH applied, they searched Equifax and Experian. I saw the search right there.

Maybe it is as of late they don't search Equifax, then? As my OH took out the account two years ago...

At a guess, Vanquis are part of the Provident Group, the loan companies wouldn't also be associated with Provident as well?
