The truth about Ryanair
Comments
-
Ryanairs response - more smoke and mirrors. Fact is that Ryanair have been caught with their pants down and although they have published their correspondence with the programme makers they haven't published exactly what has been said by the regulatory authorities.
The facts are that working conditions at Ryanair are 'hire n fire' with few benefits beyond a salary. Its an American employment model with all the power with the employer and all the risks with the employee. If you cause a problem you are dismissed. Sad reallyqui tacet consentire -

Fraserca I like that "who is silent gives consent"Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

Thanks Ruby - Say nothing and you get trampled ( Don't know what that is in Latin .... )
Programme is tonight - We will see if its a storm in a teacup or really a proper expose.
I see Walmart are getting a roasting too for their less than caring attitude to their employees.
See the DVD - The High Cost of Low Price.

This programme has certainly shown Ryanair up as a company who couldn't care less about anything but profit.
I will not be flying with them again.Filiss0 -
I would never fly Ryanair anyway, having disabled members in my family.
I wouldn't line someone's pocket who so publicly discriminated against disabled people.
I'm sorry, but "you get what you pay" for goes a certain way, and I have used quite a few budget airlines who manage to have clean, reasonably safe aircraft with nice staff.
Although I suppose there was quite a bit of dramatics going on in the show, but it was still appalling.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I am surprised at the captain's bad attitude when the plane was delayed in Spain, I really can't risk that, even if I've only paid £15.21 for a one way flight.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

the big story from dispatches was a bit of a let down, nothing really said which i found disturbing
staff grumbling justifiably about conditions and the ruthlessness of ryanair which is no surprise to anyone
the show didnt get the big story it was probably after which was flight saftey, pilots stick to flying time rules, and air traffic saftey is the same for every airline
the facts are that sometimes dirty planes..which i have never noticed on about 30 flights dosent change the fact that ryanair have the newest fleet in europe
ryanair will go from strength to strength becuae it gives the customers what they want at great prices....trying to dish the dirt as dispatches has done wont change a thing
dont forget british airways staff have been on strike over the last few years...they aint happy also0 -
Thinking about it, they were in breach of the passenger charter laid out by the EU in feb 2005:
Right to care
Where a flight has been cancelled, or is subject to a long delay, passengers are entitled to refreshments and meals in a reasonable relation to their waiting time as well as means of contacting two people outside the airport. These provisions apply according to the duration of the expected delay and the distance of the flight as follows:
> Delay of two hours or more for flights of 1500 km or less
> Delay of three hours or more for all flights within the EU of more than 1500 km and all other flights between 1500km and 3500 km
> Delay of four hours or more for all other flights.
In addition, the operating carrier will provide hotel accommodation if necessary and provide transport between the airport and place of accommodation. Passengers will be advised of the arrangements for obtaining refreshments, transport and hotel accommodation, by the carrier.
Now the reason I know they were in breach is the same thing happened to us in Mallorca, (with Thomson) and firstly the crew said we were not entitled to refreshment as the UK "is not in the EU".
They were put straight about that one pretty quick. :rotfl:
Then they said that it was outside of the 1500km, so we would have to wait for 3 hours (again incorrect, it is approx 1200km).
We ended up getting fed... after 5 hours!!!!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
