xbox 360 or PS3?

I've found gaming on PSN quite boring in comparison to XBL as without providing a headset with the PS3, the games lack banter.0

Many many many many games which are available on both platforms have better graphics on the XBox 360. That's the console a lot of cross-platform games are written for, as it's easier to develop on it due to Microsoft's developer tools, and developers have had longer to use the platform. The PS3 is in some respects a more technologically advanced platform, but that brings its own set of challenges. The XBox 360's CPU and GPU are in ways much more optimised for doing the sort of thing consoles have to do in games; it has three general purpose cores, whereas the PS3 has only one. It's a lot easier to write multi-threaded software when all the cores are exactly the same. Games also require a lot of system bandwidth to run smoothly; the PS3 has 48 GB/s of bandwidth, whereas the XBox 360 has 278 GB/s of the stuff; bit of a slight difference there I'd say.
And also, you can't get any of the games you mentioned for the XBox 360, so one can't really compare them.As for online, the ps3 is wicke,it had teething problems to begin with but games like CoD4 and R2 have fixed that.......plus,its free on the ps3!Finally, the PS3 can stream media wirelessly straight out of the box,we dont have to buy an add on, whats your point?
Just to clarify: I'm not knocking the PS3; it's a great system, and I plan on getting myself one this year (probably for its BluRay capabilities more than anything). It's just that it's not the XBox 360-killer many make it out to be.0 -
only downside to ps3 is that you'll find yourself getting a 1080p telly to get the best from it
my main reason for ps3 was blu-ray.
on-line updates with the ps3 can be very slow. firmware updates are best done by saving through the pc to a memory stick and installing from there.

I think i a swaying towards the xbox 360, because firstly i think the xbox live is a massive benefit as i am going to be wanting to play online and all the research i have done says that xbox live is far superior to the the PS3.
secondly, i dont think that i will watch that many blu-ray movies as i am more than happy with my current DVD library and my HD tv.
There is only two things that are keeping me from buying one right now, which are these rumours about the price dropping in march. I am thinking that the xbox i would go for is the elite and amazon are doing them for £210, which i thought was pretty good, but if they are going to drop under £200 in a months time then i am more than happy to wait! Also, i am a massive formula 1 fan but all the formula 1 games have always gone to Playstation!
Does anyone have any recommendations for when to buy an xbox elite? I know the price is always going to fall but if the price is going to fall in march then i am more than happy to wait a couple more weeks
as fars as i know the rumour of a price drop in march is only for the ps3. i dont believe there is any rumour about the 360 having a price drop in march.
i think sony need to take £100 off the cost of the console for it to have much impact on sales. if they just do a £50 cut (which i suspect) then i cant see it making much difference. it certainly wont with me.0 -

i had a look at a box for killzone 2 in game and if the info on the back is correct it isnt even full hd. i find this odd for what is expected to be such a big release. does this happen often with ps3 releases?0 -
