any news on the rumour that the price of the ps3 was going to be reduced in march? i fancy a blu ray player and if the ps3 was cheap enough it would be a case of may as well get one of them as i could play the odd game as well.
i do find it curious that sony dont have many stand alone blu ray players in shops. it makes me wonder if the format is really future proof.0 -
There seems to be this idea that the PS3 is "more powerful" and has better graphics.
In reality, cross-platform games are often developed first for the XBox 360 as it's easier to develop for, and then ported across to the PS3. Many games have better graphics and/or performance on the XBox 360 than they do on the PS3.
That may very well change in time, but saying the PS3 is more powerful isn't exactly accurate and doesn't tell the whole story.0 -
Also downloading the films of the marketplace is a bit expensive and you have 24 hours i think to watch it0

I have an XBox 360 in the US and with a Netflix membership, ($8.99 a month) I can watch over 12,000 movies and TV shows on demand for no extra cost.0

Their reduced price of £160 is OK, but Amazon actually have it £160 too, as do a few others.
Have a look around at bundle offers. Some on-line offers actually differ from the shop offers. Gamestation is a case in point for this.
Thanks for that Flan flinger but if you look properly you will see that the ebuyer price link that I posted actually reads £160.98
Thank you;)0 -
Thanks for all your help guys, i really appreciate it.
I think i a swaying towards the xbox 360, because firstly i think the xbox live is a massive benefit as i am going to be wanting to play online and all the research i have done says that xbox live is far superior to the the PS3.
secondly, i dont think that i will watch that many blu-ray movies as i am more than happy with my current DVD library and my HD tv.
There is only two things that are keeping me from buying one right now, which are these rumours about the price dropping in march. I am thinking that the xbox i would go for is the elite and amazon are doing them for £210, which i thought was pretty good, but if they are going to drop under £200 in a months time then i am more than happy to wait! Also, i am a massive formula 1 fan but all the formula 1 games have always gone to Playstation!
Does anyone have any recommendations for when to buy an xbox elite? I know the price is always going to fall but if the price is going to fall in march then i am more than happy to wait a couple more weeks0 -
I don't think anyone can tell you with any certainty when the price will go down.
If you don't mind waiting, then wait and see. If you want it right now, then buy it right now.0 -
Is there any specific reason you want the elite, it doesn't offer much over the pro bar a larger hard drive..0
