Perhaps they should pay their debts to Gatwick first?

Hopefully Ryanair will become an internet only company and I can join the queue to unplug them.

You have to be clever when booking Ryanair flights, yesterday i booked flights for 2 adults and 3 kids, we will take hand luggage and only one case.
Because I will have the case I will have to check in at the airport and I will be charged,(fair enough I know the rules) but the rest of my party will also be charged £9.50 each for airport check in, even though they will only have hand luggage.
So I booked them on the flight with hand luggage and online check in, paid and then booked myself on the same flight with a case and airport check in.
Thats £38 saved for 10 mins extra work plus no booking fee cos I used my electron card:D

    Nonsense.

You can individually select luggage/check in requirements for each passenger during the booking process. Priority boarding is an all or none option but not what you describe.
  • Latest scam from Ryanair seems to be that they will be accepting online check-in only by the end of this year. They will, by this, discriminate against people without internet access (25% of their check-ins do it at the airport). So be prepared to offer your computer to friends and relatives who can't do it on their own.Ryanair will also be able to reduce check-in staff to more or less zero. Another scam is the 'Ah, you seem to have mis-entered your passport number when you gave us details. That will be £50 please.' Check it out. And say no to O'Leary's latest get richer quicker scam.

    from Ryanair website

To qualify for Online Check-in each passenger must present either a valid passport or National Identity Card (Driving licences not accepted), issued by either the government of an EU/ European Economic Area (EEA) country or Switzerland which matches the document details printed on their online boarding pass, at both airport security and the departure gate.

so you can use ID cards

Jayok - this that what you mean by people without passports ?

No you are wong on this, and the rottweiler is correct.

If one of the party is paying to check in, then i it will calculate it for everybody and the only way of avoiding this is book those who can check in online seperately.

I know for sure as I have tried everything to get round this and always have to do seperate bookings as I have an infant who cant be checked in online.

Yes, my two sons are on my wifes passport and we cannot check in online. I do not have a passport and use my photo driving licence when travelling to Dublin from Prestwick.

Unless they relax their rules, we will be excluded from flying with Ryanair unless we all get passports (which are not needed for entry purposes!). I can check in online on Easyjet, BA, BMI and flybe using my driving licence. In fact I do not think any of those airlines link your ID to the boarding pass.
