Its ok for Ryanair to say they want everyone to take hand luggage, but I flew in from Murcia last night and was unable to get any hand luggage in the storage lockers above and had to go under my seat making it a kind of cramped journey. As for there rules on bag sizes They were out the window.I booked my holdall in on the journey as I went strictly by the measurements and it was 3cm to big Even though I only had 6k of luggage.5 people on the plane had the same bag and some had even bigger.Ok they were weighing them but size didnt seem an issue .They need to get it right and get the storage sorted.

I have previously used the east midlands to rimini service and had considered using it again recently however despite it being shown on the website i cannot find any flights going there.

Perhaps they have fallen out with the airport like they did with Valencia?

I think if you cancel these seats you can get the taxes money back if losing the actual price of the seats is less than the new price then you could do that and rebook. Hope that makes sense.

You can get the tax back but ........

1 - in order to do it, you need to call their internet support line at £1 per minute

    2 - it's subject to a £15 'reasonable administration fee'

I recently tried to claim back on a flight I was unable to take on which I paid £65 for two of us in taxes, fees and charges. I have been told by Ryanair that the taxes are less than the £15 fee & therefore I won't be getting a refund (and it cost me an extra £4 for the call to the internet support line).

As they don't show their taxes separately, you don't actually know how much they are until you try to claim.

I'm not normally one to moan about Ryanair as I travel with them regularly and know that you get what you pay for (i.e. cheap flights), but am annoyed by this one.

one more thing to mention... it actually sometimes PAYS YOU to book people separately !!!

for now i only bought (not counting the 0.01p tix) tickets for only one flight (Girona - Paris) for 6 people.... when i tried to book 6 people at once.. the price was 10 euro more for EACH !!! with a hit and miss system i found that there are 3 tix at 10e lower, so i bought those 3, and the other 3 at that higher price.. so 30e was saved by actually splitting the reservation (of course it could have been 1 out of 6 at a lower price... or even 5 of 6)....

so my rule of thumb would be to check the price for 1 ticket always, and then (if you travel in a group) check to see what prices you get when booking together....

Europe's largest low-fare airline Ryanair said on Saturday it planned to save costs by closing all its airport check-in desks by the end of the year and have passengers check in online instead.

"All we will have is a bag drop where passengers can drop off their luggage, otherwise everything will be done online," Ryanair Chief Executive Michael O'Leary told the Daily Telegraph. He said the savings would be passed on to passengers in the form of lower fares. Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara told Reuters that 75 percent of the airline's passenger already used its online check-in services."We are trying to encourage the remaining 25 percent to do the same," he said. "Hopefully by the end of the year we will have bag drop-in areas instead, which will be manned."

The airline would continue to have staff running ticket desks at airports, he said.
The change would lead to layoffs but the airline used many third-party staff at airports and would attempt to limit the effect of the reduction. "We are hoping the job cuts will be minor," McNamara said.
