Yeppers, he's fine, it's just me who's the immigrant!
Not for long though, I get to apply for citizenship this August, and therefore eventually get a red passport, so I won't have to pay airport checkin fees forever0 -
I see Ryanair are introducing a new means of torturing their victims - sorry customers

we have just booked to go to portugal for a week in march from prestwick, all in it was £92 for our flights. yes we could have done it cheaper but seeing as there are 2 adults 1 child and an infant we are more than happy with what we paid. we COULD have just taken 3 hand luggage bags but decided to pay for a bag in the hold seeing as we need to check in at the airport anyway with us having an infant and you cannot do online checkin with an infant.
we always take a hand scales like ones that fishermen etc use to make sure that all bags are within the weights esp as on the way home we have extra stuff which we have bought. When our daughter turns 2 however we will only take hand luggage. as 10kg is more than enough for each of us as we buy shampoo etc when we get there even nappies we only pack what we need that will last till we get to a supermarket the following day.
*touch wood* we have never had any delays of flight changes and flew with ryanair 11 times last year. all the staff seemed friendly enough. we did notice however that when coming home from gerona in spain that the spannish travellers were being allowed to carry on full sized suitcases as well as large hold alls and backpacks without being questioned (we were then delayed in taking off by 10 mins while the ground crew transferred the suitcases into the hold as they would not fit in the overhead lockers but we did still land ahead of schedule.) every person checking in was asked to fit their hand luggage bags into the metal cages and were weighed at the scales on the check in desks (which incidently were showing at .8kg with nothing on the scales) then passengers were being asked to fit hand luggage into the cages again before going thru secruity at departures and some again as we were boarding but the spanish travellers were never asked to do this (not that i stood and watched every person going thru but we did stand and watch the queue for a good while)
my partner works offshore and our 2 kids are young enough that they are not at school and going on holiday doesn't affect their education so we are lucky that we can go on holiday really any time my partner is at home. we went to put money into our halifax accout (which is used dolely for ryanair) and the woman asked if we wanted to upgrade our card but when my partner said no she quickly asked if it was for ryanair flights lol,
we definately would not be able to fly with anyone else as cheaply as we can with ryanair. we booked our accommodation which was £150 for a 1 bed self catering 4* apartment again we could have got cheaper with places coming in at £70 but it's not always about the cheapest its about a price you are happy paying for what you are getting - we've never been to portugal but are really looking forward to it
(lol sorry about the log reply )0 -
In the absence of any official statement from Ryanair (no surprise there !), can anyone shed any light on why they have cancelled these particular flights ?

You have to be clever when booking Ryanair flights, yesterday i booked flights for 2 adults and 3 kids, we will take hand luggage and only one case.
Because I will have the case I will have to check in at the airport and I will be charged,(fair enough I know the rules) but the rest of my party will also be charged £9.50 each for airport check in, even though they will only have hand luggage.
So I booked them on the flight with hand luggage and online check in, paid and then booked myself on the same flight with a case and airport check in.
Thats £38 saved for 10 mins extra work plus no booking fee cos I used my electron card:D0 -
