    Hi,

I'm sure this question will have been answered somewhere, but I've looked through the thread a few times and am still confused.

One day in 97/98, me being a wee fresh faced 18 yr old, I went to a local shopping centre where I was stopped by a woman with a clipboard and signed up to an MBNA credit card. I finally paid the credit card off in full in September 2009. During the time I had the credit card I had gone over my limit and missed payments. I have only managed to find one statement that shows I was paying payment protection cover which I can't remember signing up to. Which letter do I use to request all information on all charges and payment protection cover for the duration of the account?

    Thank you for your help

    Darcy

    Hi Darcy

The SAR letter at the very start of this actual thread I think is ideal to use, because a SAR should also include statements and everything else about the account, and of any PPI.;)

  • Thank you for your reply Di, I really appreciate your help :)

    Hi :)

Sent the letter at the start of this thread to MBNA, they replied with one sheet of info on late payments that came to around £300 but no information on payment protection. What do I do now?

    Thanks

Did you send a £10 payment? if you did,get back in touch with them and tell them they have not supplied the data you asked for, ie all info they hold on you.

I should tell you that uless the agreement shows ppi,it could have been added at a later date,if you have the card number and believe you were mis sold ppi, then look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you then put a claim in.

    Hi Amersall

Yes, I sent the £10 cheque, but they said they had provided the information free of charge. My dad wrote the cheque for me, so will have a check with him and make sure it wasn't cashed. As for the original agreement on the card, I honestly can't remember. It was taken out 15 years ago by someone who stopped me in a shopping center. They had everything on a clip board, other than that I can't remember.
  • Hello, silly question I'm sure but want to check Ian doing the right thing! So, have had a cap one card since 2000 sure I paid ppi at the beginning and then cancelled it because it was useless to me. I phoned cap one to verify if I have ever paid any and they said I hadn't. I am sending off a data information request as I have paid out a gazzilion charges due to late payments and going over limit (some pre 2006 at £20 and some post 2006 at £12). Is there any point in me changing my letter to a SAR to find out if I did pay ppi (would they lie on the phone?) or should I stick with the letter I already have? Obv have included £10 cheque. Thanks in advance.

A quick bit of advice would be handy. A number of SARs have been sent to various companies and the 40 day window closes this weekend. If these companies fail to respond within the 40 day window, what is the appropriate course of action? Two of the companies in question have banked the cheques, one of them has not.

    Much obliged!

Hi, I hope someone can help. Been reading many threads but still confused!

Trying to find details of three loans (and mis-sold PPI) in 1996 and 1998 from Lloyds. I'm still with Lloyds and I've been into my branch and they've looked at my details and there are three inactive "accounts" (made up of sort code and then 8 digit number) with starting dates (and that PPI was taken out). They cannot provide any further details on how much the loan was for and the PPI element.

What is the likelihood of them having these details and do I got for the full SAR or the £1 Consumer Credit Act option?

Since I have the account numbers do I actually need any further info to make a PPI claim?

    Many thanks in advance.

it is unlikely you will get the information you need if you just ask for the £1 copy of your credit agreements as the branch are unlikely to have this information.

i am with Lloyds, and when i got my SAR i got loan agreement statements going back to 1994 showing all the information you will need.

i would recommend requesting a SAR,

    i hope this helps
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

Did you send the SAR to your branch or head office?
