Thanks Amersall,
I will give them a ring, i've had quite a few companies phone me up saying they could get me ppi back from the last ten years, even though i've told them I have no info, and from mortgages ??? are they for real??
Any idea who I ring for halifax or would it be the branch I borrowed the money from?0 -

These companies will say ANYTHING to get their hands on your money, you may have been mis sold mppi, but they dont know if they can get you anything back.
Just pop into your nearest branch, they will help you.
You need to know if it is a mis sell you can go for with the mppi
(you can with the loan) when you get the paperwork, fingers crossed for this, then if you post what insurance this was that covered the mortgages, then i will point you in the direction of the guys on here who deal with this ppi, they are straight to the point just to warn you!,but they know what they are talking about.0 -
ok thanks I will try that and go from there !!!! fingers and toes crossed ha ha I will let you know.......:j0

Hi
I sent a PPI claim letter to HFC Bank and provided them with all of my personal details (name, address etc), what date I took the loan out and when I paid it off. Unfortunately I do not have the account number any longer as I have paid this debt off and destroyed all trace of it.
I've received a response from HFC Bank to say that they have been unable to locate my account details so they are unable to process my claim unless I can provide them with the account number. I know this is untrue as before I sent my original PPI claim letter to them I phoned them to try and obtain my account number and I was told that although they have located me on the system they cannot give out account numbers over the phone.
I've looked through previous bank statements to try and locate the account number but I've been unsuccessful.
Would I be able to send a SAR to them even though I don't have my account number or do I have to provide this information (I've noticed that this information is listed on the SAR letter template within this thread).
I hope someone can advise.
Kind regards,

Might be worth you doing a free credit check first with someone like Experian, this might turn up an account with HFC but it will only give you the last 4 digits of any account number. You can then SAR HFC reasonably confident that the full number will come up. This is provided that the loan was not paid off longer than 6 years ago as that is the timespan that banks should keep records. Good luckSuccesses
