I've received a response from HFC Bank to say that they have been unable to locate my account details so they are unable to process my claim unless I can provide them with the account number. I know this is untrue as before I sent my original PPI claim letter to them I phoned them to try and obtain my account number and I was told that although they have located me on the system they cannot give out account numbers over the phone.0

Hi all,
My parents think they have paid PPI on some loans with Barclays and maybe even their OD at one point. However they are terrible with paperwork and cannot locate it. They still have a current account with Barclays so I was wondering that if this template is filled in with those details and sent in, would they only send the details relating to the current account, or would they send all other agreements my parents have had with Barclays?0 -
Reading through some of my loan agreements and to be honest they are making me feel unwell !!
around 1998 i borrowed £3000 with a ppi of £142 which i never needed as my pay was always covered for sick but the worst was when we borrowed £17000 and the ppi was £5669 surely thats not right how can this possibly right . My company pays 26 weeks full sick pay I never needed this ..0 -
Look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you, then put a claim in,you only need the account numbers.
Give the banks 2 weeks to acknowledge, then they have a further 6 weeks to give you a final response.0 -
Looking for a bit of info on a SAR letter i'm wanting to send. i've had 3 Loans with beneficial finance, one rolling into another, on all three (including the one i'm paying off still) i had the PPI. Obviously Beneficial are no more and HFC are the bank listed on all my credit reports, will HFC hold all the records of the loans i took out with beneficial ? I have the paperwork for the most recent loan but nothing from the others and am looking to get all of the details and then fire off 3 PPI complaints to HFC in one fell swoop.0

Hi,this SAR is what you use to get all info that a bank may have on you.
If you need the account numbers, get a free trial of your credit file, this will list all accounts you have and the last 4 digits of each,if you have reasons for mis sell, send the complaint in with the last 4 digits, they should find you from these,if you have loans, and have internet banking, then go on your DD list and you may find account numbers there.
If it is Credit Cards, the card number is what you need if you have any statements.
Here are reasons for mis sell and the template letter to send to the banks, make copies of the letter in case you have to go to FOS.

Hi tongey,
No a SAR is something you send to the bank to get all the details they hold on you and it costs you £10.
To get the ball rolling on a complaint of being mis sold PPI you use the questionnaire found here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Scroll down to Step 3 and download it.
Having said that you will need the account numbers to put on the questionnaire so you WILL have to try to find these out first before filling in the questionnaire. You can try this a few ways.
1) You could call in at a local branch and ask for account numbers, you would obviously have to prove you are who you say you are to get that info
2) If that fails you could do a free credit check it may show up previous loans etc and give you the last 4 digits which is sometimes enough
3) If that fails you may have to resort to a SAR and stump up the £10 fee but even this may not supply you with the account numbers if they are older than 6 years and can't be found on file
Good luckSuccesses
