Carphonewarehouse bought up e2save ages ago.
It is now a trading name of CPWs.
CPW is not in liquidation.
It is the original e2save company that has been wound up voluntarily, and this has nothing to do with the CPW e2save "subsidiary".0 -
Plus a company in liquidation wouldn't be trading, it can't.
Don't confuse administration (which is still trading) with liquidation (which is being broken down for any assets left).Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
rockies_guide wrote: »I have had a very heated phone call with Mobile rainbow today and am very angry and dissapointed. I took out a 12 month deal with Mobile Rainbow which included 12 months cash backline rental.
I sent my first 6 month bills to them and received nothing for 8 weeks so I gave them a call, 15 minutes later after being on hold and some time trying to prove who I was, they promised to pay the monies into my account within in 15-20 days.
Nothing happened. So I called again, long time on hold, apologies for not getting my cash back and again promised monies in 15-20 days. 4 months later after sending in my bills I received a cheque for £120 in the post.
When I discussed what I had to do to get my cash back at the beginning I was explicitly told to send in 1-6 month bills, then 7/8, 9/10, 11/12. I even received a photo-copied cash back voucher sheet which I have now been told was incorrectly sent. So how come I only got £120? I make 6 times £30 line rental £180?
Another phone call and I spoke to a very unhelpful stern lady who told me I had done it all wrong! As I bought my phone in October I was meant to send in 1-6, 7-9, and 10-12. When I did this I would receive £120 each time.
At the beginning of June I sent in my 7 and 8 bills and not the 9. As I did not send in the 9th I will not get my cash back. That means I have lost £120! I bought this package for the very reason that I do not have the money for the line rental!
Cash back seems to be some sort of gambling game, if you slip up you loose.
Be aware anyone who buys these deals, you will not be told exactly what to do as I am sure they make it as difficult a possible so as not to pay up.
I will be going back to pay as you go in October.
Reading your post made me feel sick - I have just phoned MB (on hold 20 mins) as no sign of my first cashback after 45 days. I was then asked a load of irrelevant questions like 'home phone number?' etc then put on hold with terrible music for another 10 mins. Guy comes back on and says 'sorry we have had some tecnical problems with the cashback so you will have to wait another 20 WORKING days (5 weeks)'. Looks like I could be waiting in vainany suggestions?!!

any suggestions?!!
Look at the latest 'The Mobile Outlet' thread and go down the legal route detailed on the third/forth post.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Thanks for the reply - I have just called my network provider and they have suggested that I ditch them by buying out of my contract
they also said they will be seriously looking into Mobile Rainbow. Am I jumping the gun a bit if I go for a small courts claim already? The T&Cs said I would receive my first cashback instalment within 45 days (and today is the 45 th day) by cheque! Today I was told I would get a BACs transfer within a further 20 working days  Do you think I should now send a stern email saying I will definitely follow the legal route if I don't get the money in the next 4 weeks? Then follow up with a recorded delivery letter in the next few days if I don't get any response to the email? Any help or advice welcomed  I want what was promised as I would never, ever have taken out this contract if not for the cashback deal.

Hi Jangee,
Looks like they are playing the same game with you as they did with me and lots of others in this forum. Have a look at the post that grayme-m suggests and make your own decision. It is up to you if you believe them when they say they have had problems with their cash back, (their problems are that you are claiming what you are entitled to and they will do their best not to pay you).
They will not pay up unless you take them to court and as long as you have conformed to their terms and conditions as required then there will be no problem.
Threatening court action won’t work, my advice is you have to submit a court claim against them straight away if you want to have your cash back, they do not want a county court judgement against them and if you submit a right and just claim then you will get your money.
Good luck with your claim

Hi,
I would advise you go on to the moneyclaimonline website for any information you require, the costs are on a sliding scale depending on how much you are going to claim.
It is impossible for anyone to give you advice on your claim without knowing all the details and each case is different but mine was quite straight forward and after reading the posts on this forum I had the confidence to proceed, knowing I wasn't the only one fighting M.R. to get my cash back.
Good luck0 -

thanksI'm going to have to send them my 7th and 8th bills soon for my second installment of cashback when there's still no sign of the first ... is there any point in wasting another £5 on registered post? I have sent a strong email giving them 10 working days to pay up and was going to follow up with a recorded delivery letter. I am thinking perhaps this is a waste of effort  I'm so angry that it's making me violent
