Anyone had any more contact with Mobile Rainbow ? I just get an engaged tone now.
I also noticed that their sites have got a hastily added banner and pop up window advising that they are having problems due to "technical upgradation". It would appear that they also have a problem with the correct use of English...!0 -
I got my cashback from mobilerainbow but it took a while. It was my 6 month cashback for £140 odd and went straight in to my bank account.0

So how many have had the cashback, i sent my forms off 26th July by special del, i called before the bank hol and was told by some indian guy that it takes 30 days to verify and 3 days to pay...well time is up, and guess what cannot get through. emailed 2 days ago and again today, still not heard

Hi
Newbie to the forums- great work guys, wish I'd known about this place earlier.
I placed an order with MR three days ago for a samsung d600, free 12 month contract. Yesterday I was worried because I had not received any contact from them at all and I did a bit of research about them and found this thread. I emailed them to ask what the hell was going and threatening to cancel the deal and got the following reply today:
Dear Customer,
This is to inform you that since last week, we are experiencing some technical problems including server outages.
This might take another 2-3 days. So please bear with us.
We will definitely honour your order once everything gets under control.
We request you not to doubt our credentials, as we are sincere towards our commitments.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.
Yours Truly

I also phoned them and spoke to some indian sounding bloke who could not tell me anything more than the email. Suffice to say this is whollly insufficient as far as I am concerned- I have no idea when the phone will arrive.
I am still well within the 14 day cooling off period and my question is this: should I cancel now and save myself a lot of hassle?
Please advise.

jlgmax wrote:I contacted 3 yesterday to advise them of my concerns regarding Mobile Rainbow and MSOLs.
They confirmed that Mobile Rainbow still has a "live" dealer status and is still making contract connections.
They tried the contact number provided to them by MSOLs and this was unobtainable. They have added my comments regarding the company to my account notes and have raised a query on MSOLs' dealer account regarding their unobtainable phone numbers and asking for correct contact details. They then suggested I direct my query to Trading Standards....
I have had similar problems with Just3G, I also called 3 customer services who also added notes to my account. Although I'm really pleased with the overall service and network I know 3 as a network have got nothing in place to try and help people that are experiencing cash back problems.
All they are interested in is the number of connections they receive from the dealer. They should be in a position to contact the dealer and warn them that their dealer status will be removed but this isn't going to happen.0 -

I just thought that I would add that I got my cash back from them too, even though they were a few days late and did not answer all my emails. So I guess there is still hope for those having problems.0

Further to my post above, I can now advise that I sent an email telling mobile rainbow to cancel my order. I thouhg this might motivate MR to finally get off their lazy !!!!s and contact me in some form- whether it be by email, phone, carrier pigeon- whatever.
But no, I didn't get any reply, so I spent the entire morning phoning the number on their website. One time I got through- and I got around to saying the words "I want to cancel my..." and the low-life on the other end of the phone hung up. I spent more time dialling and re-dialling and got through a second time and this time spoke to some indian sounding bloke and gave him a piece of my mind. He couldn't say a single thing that explained why they did not conatct me at all after I ahd placed my order. He was also very dismissive and rude.
Anyway, I've cancelled my order and, unless you want to deal with THE WORST customer service imaginable, I would suggest that anyone else should steer clear of these cowboys.

I am having cash back problems with Phones4UDirect. I sent my request on 2 August and Royal Mail have confirmed it was signed for on 3 August. Appart from automated replies I have yet to receive any form of acknowledgement to either my request or the several emails I have sent them. It said on their web site that the next "cheque run" would be on 1 September, seven days ago. In future I will buy from Car Phone Warewhouse as their cash back service works.
I suspect the truth is that these smaller companies (some of which are owned by CPW) are set up and designed to avoid paying cash back - some conditions I have read are rediculouse = even to the extent that one - can't remember which - states that if you make one error with a cash back claim you are disqaulified from making any further claims. And another says that if you change your address you are disqaulified or accidently claim in the wrong month and you are disqualified.0
