I am glad that Mobile Rainbow has posted in the last few days. It shows to me that they must still be in business.

To be blunt, a post from a user called Mobile Rainbow doesn't actually prove anything useful about the business - either positive or negative.

The Creditor information will form part of the balance sheet (look at my earlier posts about information obtained from companies house). I have not obtained the March 2006 accounts as yet.

The Creditors for the year ending 2004 were £26,815.00 and for the year ending 2005 £49,318.00.

Evidently, this figure comprises total creditors and not just cashback creditors. However, I am unsure of MSols Ltd's accounting practice. MSols Ltd may not include the cashbacks they expect to pay out in the creditors section of the balance sheet and if they do they may, using the statistical theory of the mean/expected value, only include a percentage of the amount of cashback that could theoretically be claimed should everyone claim their cashback and stick to the T&C's.

Just while I remember, the amount of Issued Share Capital for MSols Ltd is £10,300 as of 31 March 2005. This may of changed recently.
  • I have e-mailed mobile rainbow at the address above. They 'read' my email on 3rd July. I will let you know what happens next. At least the response by mobile rainbow to my earlier thread got me in touch with them, since the details on my contract all failed to work.

The jury is still out at the moment. I chose them originally because they had fewer horror stories that other companies (recognising that on a forum such as this, a horror story is easy to come by).

  • Hi guys, I've just received my first cashback from Mobile Rainbow (MR). Here's how it went down:

    1. sent off claim via recorded delivery
    2. successfully tracked it online
    3. emailed MR regarding receipt of my claim - no response
    4. called MR's freephone number - claim acknowledged; I should receive the money on 3rd August
    5. 3rd August comes and goes, no money...2 emails were sent on 2 separate occasions - no reply
    6. on 14th August, I sent out an email explaining that I hadn't received my cashback and that I may have to take "drastic (ie legal) action" if I didn't receive it ASAP
    7. no reply from MR regarding the above email, but my first cashback was deposited into my account on 16th August.

    Hope this is helpful

When i did my research on these deals i settled for phoneboxdirect and mobilerainbow. I was also apprehensive that the companies would go in the red and not pay my cashbacks....

I find mobilerainbow gave good service because i did not have a difficult time with them although my claim went into a few problems: the cashback claim procedure was unclear and it turned out they wanted the 6th bill as opposed to the 7th bill (ie those normally requested for 180days after conenction). This i was told only later although they did email me a confirmation of receipt of my bill. After calling them to enquire i was told i had sent in the wrong bill (the later one) and hence had exceeded the cashback claim period. I insisted on speaking to a supervisor or manager and explained the problem. He suggested I email him in writing so he could ask his manager and then said he would call me back the next monday (it was a friday) and he did, with the good news that i wouldn't need to send in the 6th bill since i already sent in the 7th. I got my money back soon enough so i am thinking of taking another deal off them in a few mths' time.

Overall i found that they actually respond to emails (unlike phoneboxdirect which i also had no problems with cashback) and calling in was no problem at all (unlike mobileoutlet which you should avoid! My gf still has a problem--- pls see the mobileoutlet thread).

My suggestion is that don't order more than one phone from any one company (eg MSOLS in this case) to minimise your risks, and to make sure the cashback amount or mobile deal you are on is stated clearly when you order it. Also make sure you have a copy of the Terms n Conditions. So that you don't run into problems later with them saying you weren't on such and such a plan or that you need to be on the same address (which i notice is a newly-added clause on their website). Before i make my new order i will ask them about the change of address thingy.
  • Hi,

I followed the instructions included in the mobile rainbow info, they were unclear at best. After no response I tried to call. The telephone number on the documents they sent me with my order is no longer connected. The telephone number on this forum just rings out. I have tried emailing several times with no response.

The conclusion I have drawn is that Mobile Rainbow are frausters.

DO NOT BUY FROM MOBILE RAINBOW

Pick a high street or other well known company, even if their offer is not quite as good at least the chances of getting ripped is minimised.
  • Hi,

anyone heard anything more on Msols? - i.e. are they still operate or gone into liquidation? I just tried all their websites and all the phones are disconnected, which is more than suspicious...
