    hi badboyz...

u probably don't have to make your claims with a cashback voucher...i need to (as i bought my phone months later and T&Cs had changed since), and on the voucher it states that for fones PURCHASED in october, the 6th bill to be mailed in should be in March. did you buy your fone towards the tail-end of Sept such that your bill only arrived in the first few days of October?

I have sent them the following email below.

To Customer Services at Mobile Rainbow,

Despite your numerous emails, the last dated 17th May in which you advise the cashback has been transferred to my account, this money still does not appear on my account. As I explained before, I have had several negative feedback about your Company with paying cashback. My cashback was due to me withing 28 days of sending my 6th bill, which was supposed to be by 12th May 2006. You are now 10 days overdue to make this payment.

Under the above circumstances, I am today contacting the Trading Standards Office and will be taking further action via Small Courts for compensation against your Company and to recover the FULL cashback due to me for the year of £260. I understand that you will be hearing from a representative from Trading Standards in the next 7 days.

CAN ANYONE ADVISE WHAT STEPS I CAN REALLY TAKE? I HAD TO INTENTION OF BUYING A PHONE FROM THIS COMPANY AT FIRST BUT I GOT IT BECAUSE OF THE GOOD DEAL. THIS IS A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE FOR ME AS I HAD BEEN WITH T-MOBILE FOR 12 YEARS AND ONLY JUST MOVED NETWORK AND NOW HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I REALLY WANT MY CASHBACK DUE, AND I DONT PLAN TO LEAVE IT ALONE. I SEE THEIR OFFICES ARE INWATFORD, DO YOU THINK ITS WORTHWHILE TURNING UP THERE AS I LIVE IN LONDON NOT FAR FROM WATFORD?

I think that the office address is probably just a letter drop, and that they will operate from somewhere else. I'm contacting trading standards though, but not hopeful of getting my cashback.
  • Hi Skip2mylou, I brought my phone on Sept 19th and I didnt get no cashback vouchers?

ClumsyCloggs0305: It seems that many of us are in the same boat. Hope we get our cashback! You think we can do anything together in a group? Would this strengthen our cases?

badboyz--> i think this cashback voucher thing was recently introduced (ie 2006)...since you bought your phone in Sept....maybe (just maybe) they may be right....for me, i bought my phone (on 3's network) on 24th Jan, but i received a bill within a few days (still within January)

Hello, i sent off my 6th bill a month ago, just to be on the safe side i sent all 6 bills recorded delivery. Within 2 days they phoned me up to confirm that i would receive cashback in 28 days.
28 days later and have had nothing!
    Not happy and disapointed
  • !!!!e :( I hope not! But the fact is that I got told that I will get the cashback the first time they called me and then when i called to chase this cashback up, this woman told me that i wasnt eligible because i ported my number!

There is no clause at all in the T&C i have got. She said she will call me back within 24 hrs but she hasnt.
  • :j Well, after posting on here yesterday, I couldn't help myself so rang them up at about 8.30pm. I explained that I had the email from them but was still waitng for the cash to hit my account. The lady assured me that it had been paid and that I should be patient and if it did not appear in 2-3 days then i should call again. So I checked my account this morning and to my amazement, there was £130 in my account!!! I couldn't believe my luck-it felt like I'd won some lottery money!!! As I had never expected to receive it. I don't know if the Tradng Standards threat paid off, but I'm glad I've got the money. Maybe some of you that are eligble want to try this...
As for the 2nd lot of cashback, I am due to move houses, but having read the posts on here, I will not change to my new address until I have got the 2nd round of cashback!!!

i think you're right on this point about porting and eligibility. i contacted them months back RE: this same issue...their response was that porting was an agreement between the network and myself, which is totally independent from cashback which is between the retailer (Mobile Rainbow) and myself.
  • I just rang them back as I never got a call and spent 16 minutes arguing with this girl Angelina Joseph apparently lol.

Anyway, she is saying that because I did not inform them of the porting of my number I am not eligible for cashback. There is no T&C saying that! Now she says they have to double check with the accounts dept and will call me back in 24 hrs. ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGH!!!

    Mobile Rainbow NEVER AGAIN!!!
