  • Morning OS friends!

Gray and misty and cold today but all the snow has gone.
    hapbirth.gifChurchmouse!!
Lillibet - What a shame you had to get rid of your chickens. You must really miss them.
Moggins - great news about the job offer
Meanmarie - I hope that today is better for you hon
Tru - I am having a baking day today also! It's been ages since I cooked something purely frivilous so I am really looking forward to it
VickyA - so pleased that you mum has had some good news at last
Mrs Mix - Don't let the bully get you down *hugs*
r.mac - It's good to see you are enjoying the last few days/weeks(!) of pregnancy, you might as well enjoy the peace before they make an appearance!
Sybil - so lovely to hear from you and please don't let other peoples opinions get you down... the only opinions that matter are from people who care about you - like we all do on this thread. *hugs*
Bargainbird - how is Spike doing?

thanx.gifall for your good wishes for Tristan. I haven't yet actually spoken to him, apparently he is very weak of course. He passed on a message via our friend which made me smile, and it's enough for me that he is awake right now.

Really looking to doing some baking today. I have in mind some cheese straws, hobnobs with ginger, rock buns and something else I haven't decided on yet.

Tonights dinner is the lovely belly pork we bought the other day and my OH is going back to the butchers today to get some more sausages for the freezer and some pork skin - we are going to attempt to make pork scratchings which I love!

We rang Motability yesterday and yes, you can get a grant if you cannot afford the car that you can get into comfortably, so they are sending me the forms to fill in. Then you write on the form about the cars you have tried (which will be about 8 cars by the time we finish, including 3 or 4 we wouldn't have normally tried due to cost) and they means test you and then offer you a grant if you qualify.

cat2.gifMy OH is complaining that he is the cats Stannah Stair lift as she refuses to go down the stairs now unless he carries her, and the stairs are the only way out of the flat! She doesn't even like going out of the cat flap now as we think a neighbours cat lurks outside, so my OH has to open the front door for her too!

I hope everyone has a great day. Warm gentle hugs to those who want them..

Thank you for all thinking about me, I am fine.

Someone had a go about dear heart on another board, and I am feeling a bit fragile. I believe I am overreacting, but still a bit upset.

    .

Sybil, at the risk of having my head bitten off, I am going to say something that is genuinely meant in the best possible way. :o .....

You have posted things about your husband which have caused some posters to respond in a negative way. That is not to say that your "dear heart" is wrong. I was one of the posters on one of your threads who upset you when all I was trying to do was show my concern. I paid for that when you brought the subject up on this thread and I have therefore refrained from posting on this thread since. I just wanted you to know that I don't think other posters are attacking you but conversely they are showing concern.
MSDiva says that the only people whose opinions matter is the people on THIS thread who care about you. I would disagree with that. Perhaps if you want people to stop highlighting things you have said, you shouldn't say them and I don't mean that unkindly.;)
I really hope that all is well with you and little bear and I hope you don't stay upset for long.

While I'm here I'd like to wish Rmac a speedy delivery of your baby!!! and a very happy birthday to Churchmouse!!!

OS today has been erratic as I keep being interrupted. But washing and ironing is done and stovies are prepared for dinner. I'm nipping out to the village for a community meeting in a while then home to batten down the hatches before more snow appears.

    Cheerio

Sybil, I don't know what people have been saying and I don't really want to. But I know that people on this thread love you and care about you, and have missed you lots and lots. :grouphug:

And actually, the only opinion you need to care about is your own. If other people agree with you it's a bonus, but it's not vital.

Chin up chook, good to know you're okay xxx
  • Hi Sybil
Nice to see you posting, & as for a snotty Little Bear, when mine were little & snotty & insisted on giving me a kiss, I used to say, 'mmm snotty kisses, my favourite, my DGD had a cold last time I saw her & I was able to use the phrase again. My DD said, 'I remember you saying that & I thought it was disgusting, but now I'm just used to them'. Lol.

  • Happy to see Maya posting, and hope that you are able to stay and enjoy the thread.

This is a very brief post as little bear has worked out that his Thomas the tank engine scoot along can do more than just be stood on. He has learned how to scoot! I am on catcher duty.

    Sybil

We missed you, I feel something is missing now without your daily updates about our Dear Little bear. Please please don't let others get you down, I personally seldom post on other boards as I find them often cruel.

You are a special person who is cared about very much here and we have all been very concerned. ((hugs hugs hugs)) Just ignore the nasties sweetie, they aren't worth your concern

    Hi Maya honey!
Good to see you posting with us again - just wanted to point out that what I actually said was..

Sybil - so lovely to hear from you and please don't let other peoples opinions get you down... the only opinions that matter are from people who care about you - like we all do on this thread. *hugs*

Small misunderstanding, but I didn't say that the only opinions that matter are those on this thread - I wouldn't be so presumptuous to suggest that no one else on MSE cares about Sybil, merely that (for example) we certainly did on the Daily.

Hope you have a good day

P.S. Good luck Reverbe at the dentist!

I'd like to echo what previous posters have said about Sybil. We all missed you and love your posts. xxxx (((((((((sybil)))))

Well is'nt life full of funny surprises... When I was in my last job about to be made redundant there was a data processor job going in another department which i applied for. They dared to tell me that this was a junior job (tho of the same pay) and that they wrongly assumed I would get bored and leave. They took on 2 school leavers - one young girl, one young asian lad and showed them round the office etc while I was still there. They had expressions like guppies and couldnt seem to take in the most basic things.

I have just been on the Reed website to do my jobsearch and lo and behold it seems that one of those jobs is open and obviously one of them has got bored and left!!!While the totally committed, skilled qualified and experienced me who would still be there and who lives 30 seconds from the office (and would have been there on Monday)is sitting at home unable to get work... :D:D OH How I am laughing as well as being angry.

Cheers Diva. Don't really need it tho - am not dentophobic, never minded going never have . It's just I need a checkup so fitting it in while I am not working so dont have to pay. Also a bit of my repaired front tooth came off after some soft cheese believe it or not some time ago but they told me it would cost £45 to repair and it is only a tiny corner of the buildup that my dentist made that is missing. Hoping they will remedy that today. I will play on how I don't feel like smiling etc cos of it.. LOL
