No snow, the rain washed it away

Going to the doctor's later, then seeing our son for a 21st birthday dinner. It is tomorrow but he is busy tomorrow night.

So another day and a load of muppets to deal with.

    Morning all

    Happy Birthday Churchmouse :D

Woohooo Snow!! Loads of it. Both kids are off school. DS bless him is braving the blizzard to walk 45 mins to his girlfriends house.

Apparently they only have enough grit here to do the motorways and the A roads and most buses aren't running.

If OH thinks I am taking the car out in this to drive him to work up a non gritted hilly B road he has another think coming.

    Hi peeps

just popping back to say Happy Birthday Churchmouse
:bdaycake: Have a wonderful day !

Well it`s not stopped snowing yet and it`s coming down thick and fast

I have the local radio station on and keep hearing reports of snow, traffic jams and school closures. Mr Sunnyday has made it to work in time, he just called to say that he was there safely, he set off and allowed two hours for a 30 minute journey, if it carries on like this it`ll be a nightmare to get home.

I`ve still not found a recipe for the turkey so i shall carry on hunting, i must write a small list for the shops later though, i may make some twinks but i used the last of the golden syrup last night for treacle sponge and custard :o
really nice but my waistline is rapidly expanding :rotfl:

    Catch you all later.

    Keep warm & safe guys.

    SD

Edit Mrs Mix, i hope that you`re ok. I hate bullies like that  , perhaps we should house swap for a week. He would be so glad to see you back after i`ve finished with him that he would leave you in peace forever.:D
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Birthday to Churchmouse :bdaycake: Hope you have a good one!

Snowing here for the past hour but it doesn't look like it's going to be much to write home about. Everyone out on their travels now to college, school, work etc and I've got to clean the windows, clean kitchen cupboards, ditto microwave, make some spicy lentil soup for lunch & bacon, onion & potato hot pot for tea  I'll keep going through it with the radio on & I'll stay warm! DD's bf dog walking for me after lunch so that's one less job & he enjoys the time to think on his own. Dogs are great for that in my experience :A

Good luck for any interviews, auditions & job hunting today. Sending special thoughts to anyone else who needs them. Have a good day everyone & keep warm :D

Happy Birthday Churchmouse!:bdaycake: Many happy returns of the day to you

I hope everyone is well today? My cold is finally getting better and I'm getting rid of the headachy bit of it - thank goodness.

There's a light dusting of snow here and it's definitely colder this morning. Have left the CH on at 15 ºC to keep the house warmer.

    Breakfast was tea and toast
Lunch will be a roll and soup
Dinner - hmm, still debating that one at the moment, not sure!

Like HockeyDuo, I'm looking forward to the start of the Six Nations this weekend. Heard last night that I've got a ticket for the Scotland v Ireland match in March, so that's something to look forward to.

MSD - lovely news about Tristan!

Marie - Thinking of you. I've been there too and it's not easy, especially when people who haven't think you should just be able to "snap out of it!" I hope your visit to the Doctor helps on Mondday

Moggins - great result from taking the car into the garage!

EssexHebridean - you lucky thing, 2 tickets to the Calcutta cup match - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Hope you all have a good day!
  • Good morning all. It's all white outside, not snow but a deep frost.I don't think snow is far away though. The temperature has realy dropped today as well.

I'm feeling sorry for myself today,my arm is playing me up.I have an old stress fracture that has never healed properly and when it plays up I know about it.It makes me so frustrated sometimes.

I have'nt a clue what we'll eat today but I've been told by OH it has to include Brussel sprouts as he realy fancies some.Good job I have some in because I'm not going out specially for any.

I think I'll just be pottering today.I don't realy have much of anything I need to do.

Just want to add my best wishes on your birthday Churchmouse.

To everyone else have a good day.

    morning!

lots of snow here in Worcestershire! DH came home from work - couldn't do most of his milkround. Luckily I've got 2 days off so dont need to drive anywhere and we have a small co-op show about 1 minutes walk away for any emergency shopping.

Didn't read yesterdays thread so (((hugs))) to all who need them.

    Happy Birthday Churchmouse:bdaycake: _party_

not sure what I'm doing later but have got to go and do some cleaning for Mum this morning but I can walk there.

Hope you all enjoy the snow
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Morning everyone....

(Happy birthday ChurchMouse....Hugs to everyone else)

Well I managed to walk the dogs this morning and remembered to get dressed!! Chickens, geese and ducks are miffed at the amount of snow...and as I was feeding them a darn big rat ran out from under their shed.....OH will have to deal with him later!!!

OS today is terry nappy washing and general cleaning...I can't wait to get back to work!!! Was going to sort out my potting shed but I can't find it for white stuff at the moment!!!

Bit worried about OH today, he is a Traffic Bobby and is trying to sort out the carnage that is our roads. He said he had a few near misses yesterday with people driving too fast...Hope noone runs him over today as I've just made him a fresh batch of Hobnobs!!!

Well must crack on...well, while Baby is asleep anyway!!!

    Good morning!

White outside here, but roads are clear, hooray! Thought we were going to get huge amounts of snow last night, started about 9.15pm and within half an hour we'd had a couple of inches! Then we just had the odd small flurry, which was a relief as I didn't want to be snowed in at work LOL!

Kids all off to school, much to their disappointment! DS was desperately trying to convince me he was ill, hmm, I'd have been more sympathetic if he isn't always trying to convince me he's ill on a Thursday! Perhaps he should get his homework sorted out, darn pesky child!

Have swished and swiped, done the pots, cleared all sorts of rubbish from around the house, cleaned my bathroom, need to put bm on, and change my duvet cover as a wet muddy cat has just sat on it, sigh! Upstairs also needs a good hoover.

Lunch today for me will be out, hopefully! Kids have cheese and onion rolls (safe from anyone trying to kiss them I think!), grapes, apple, choc and orange muffin and yoghurt.

Dinner tonight will be gammon in cheese sauce with roasties and red cabbage, which means I'd better get that cabbage done now as it takes hours! SC here I come!

A friend is coming round this morning then we're off out for lunch, which should be nice, not going too far though, just in case the snow starts and I have to whizz and collect the kids - 3 diff schools, 3 diff directions, all in the middle of nowhere! Best make sure I have a hearty meal to insulate me, okay okay, I know, it's just an excuse to have a huge pudding!

Tonight dd2 has requested duvets and dvds, will snuggle up in my bed I think with hot choc and marshmallows, old dvds and extra covers! Hope they remember that the Victorian Farm is on and they'll all need to be snuggled in their own beds by then!

    Churchie - Happy Birthday!

Not read back yet, just saw Sunnygirl's post! So hugs where needed and have a good day all xx
