Good to see you back Sybil....and to know that everything is well and that LB is behaving normally...I have 3 sons, 1 & 3 were fairly easy going but number 2 was a villain on wheels...if something could happen to him it did...he is now 34 and I have to stop myself saying 'what's wrong?' when he rings....no consolation for you there then, Im afraid!! Really miss you when you're not around.
Hasn't been a bad day, took birthday DD out to lunch, so no dinner here to-night, just had some cheese and crackers to fill gaps until bed-time. Lots more snow but I don't think it is sticking so hopefully roads will be ok to-morrow...weather has been MS for me as I still haven't done the shopping I meant to do on Monday, and no-one has starved!
Nice to see you Snowy...hope that something comes up soon jobwise.
Halight....keep trying, I am sure that something will happen for you even if it takes a while, not easy to hang round when you are used to working is it?
Need to gather up birthday stuff for DGD2, we are going to Cork on Saturday for an over-night, Saturday is her birthday, not sure if she is having a party or not, she will probably be just happy enough to bully Daideo (OH) as she usually does...he loves it.
Moggins, congratulations on job, however part-time, good luck to all job hunters.
Sleep well

Evening,
Wow! Everybody's been busy! Good luck to anybody going for jobs, looking for jobs or just trying to get to where they need to be in this weather
Got a banging head today - had it since last night. Been taking ibuprofen for it but doesn't seem to be doing a great deal, and I'm miserable because I'm meant to be at a party tonight. Ahhhh well, at least I can get an early night :A
All this talk of baking is making me want to bake - quick question though, if anybody can help me with this I'd be reeeeeally grateful!! If I want to use a bread recipe to make rolls, does it affect the baking time or temperature? I'm kind of new to this baking malarky, but I love it! Makes me feel very homely:o
*huuuuuuuuugs* if anybody needs one, I know I do - it's blooming freezing!:rotfl:2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Hello again:D
I've had a lovely birthday, thank you all for your kind wishes. I had some really lovely, and thoughtful gifts, I'm a very lucky mouse:D Saw my two grandsons after school, and DG1 had made me a lovely bracelet from beads. He has made it completely symmetrical around a central flower bead, and he's only 5:D It is ummm rather colourful;):rotfl: but I love it and have promised I shall wear it when I go out with friends tomorrow evening. He even made his own beautifully decorated gift-box, I think the lad has talent!!
I meant to say to Happyroly that if you make the Galette, it might be worth searching for Gingham Ribbon's spring planner ( or a very similar title:o) because we sort of adjusted the recipe a bit. I think the final concensus was that 200 mls of milk, or maybe a little more, worked better than the full 250 mls the recipe states. The dough is really not dough as most of us know it, more like dropping consistency. It really is delicious, and very amenable to variations depending what you have in.
Snowy, sorry I must have missed you becoming unemployed again. ((hugs)) and very best fingers crossed wishes you get something worthy of you soon. I have been a bit spasmodic in my attention this last few weeks, but Dad's affairs are becoming sorted. That's one thing I certainly have to give him, there's not one bit of needed paperwork missing, the trick is in finding it amongst the two tons of unnecessary papers:rotfl:;)
And to conclude I have done one bit of OS today. Baked some biscuits. Got the recipe off a blog that was linked to for a craft tip. Trust me, spotted the biscuit recipe instantly, don't remember if I found the craft tip:o Rather nice, dough rolled in coconut, topped with a maraschino cherry:D
Off for a quick surf. As I only had a little wine with lunch I'm enjoying a cheeky little Chabilis now:rotfl:You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Tonight we took advantage of the ASK 2-for-1 main meal voucher and had a lovely time for only £12.00 odd. That must be the best OS thing I've done for ages, apart from decluttering, freezing sandwiches, using up leftovers, having NSD, turning the heating down.. oh, you get the picture!
Following the OS meal we went to see Midge Ure in concert (solo) which was just lovely, most songs were fabulous and a couple didn't work but it didn't matter. The bloke can still sing well and my bonus was that he still looks good enough to kidnap and keep in a tower somewhere as a personal slave!! :rotfl: :rotfl: If I was a lover that is!!
Finishing off a half empty bottle of wine now, that has to be OS too??0
