Afternoon peeps
well i`m bushedi walked to the shops and bought some bits and bobs, we have a co-op and a spar but neither of them sell bread flour  i shall have to wait until i can get to Asda, both houndies are walked and snoring away and i`ve been out in the snow and cleared the drive and footpath all the way down to the road.
Not a very nice job as the ice was so thick beneath the snow that i was having to smash the spade through it, a kind neighbour has given me enough grit to put down so hopefully i shall be able to get the car out for w*rk at stupid o clock in the morning. Not looking forward to it though.
A friend has just texted me to say they are laying off more staff so i`m feeling a bit anxious atm.
Still not found a recipe for the turkey leg so i shall have another quick look and then if i can`t find anything i fancy i shall just whack it in the sc with some onions.
Off for a browse folks.

Sorry to hear of your car troubles tiredmum not a nice experience and unexpected costs.
I got up to find another 2inches of snow on top of already frozen icy snow, managed to open the garage and get the car out. Skidded a few times on way out of estate and got stuck on some ice but in my mind kept thinking it will be ok on the main roads, so down the slip road which is a hill and very slippery onto the main road and no just as slippery, sat in traffic for an hr went 2miles so turned around.
Then occured to me I had to go up the sliproad on a hill back home or through the industrial estate which would be very slippery, well went through the industrial estate as had seen cars struggling on hill it was hell, so glad to get home. Legs were shaking and tummy churning (made dash to toilet!!).
So been working from home. suppose to be going away this weekend but dont think be driving anywhere as sooo dangerous0 -
tired mum - Why is it that when you need the car most it lets you down and dents your pocket at the same time...rubbish.Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0

Hugs to you Tired Mum
Well I have achieved something today, I've made 7 jars of marmalade, I'll probably give some away otherwise it will take me years to get through it.
Hugs Hester

Little bear has just dropped his favourite teddy into the (fortunately just flushed) toilet.
I am robust enough that little bear will get it back after an extremely prolonged session in the washing machine, and the teddy is very washable (IKEA soft toys are absolutely marvellous!!)
Of course I do have a spare, which little bear is now holding. So far between the two they have been dropped, trailed in mud, have had car wheels pass over them when one was run over, been left behind and nearly sold in a charity shop by mistake. There is also a third that lives with dear heart's sister, just in case.
It's not old style, but I do hope it raises a smile.
Old style - I have a pack of cooking bacon scraps with a value veggie pack and some country soup mix currently bubbling away for tea. Poor dear heart will be getting in late and frozen.
I really need to get some now black bananas used up, and banana bread goes well at dear heart's place of employment, but my back is now in considerable pain, so I am going to sit and watch little bear draw for a little while.
Hugs to all in this dark time of year.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Afternoon Everyone
Its trying to snow here but nothing like earlier in the week
Been out into town this morning and it left quite a dent in my poor old purse.ES decided to tell me yesterday that his shoes were leaking and that he'd lost one of his school pumps also YS needed some new trainers. Both boys also needed new trousers as they've both had a growing spurt recently. All in all an expensive trip into town. But its done now
MSD you shamed me into baking.I've done a loaf for the kids in the pullman,a bread pudding for after tea and a banana bread to use up the three sad looking bananas in the fruit bowl.
We're having a good old favourite for tea Egg,Chips and baked beans. The kids will love it!
Maya isnt it time you left poor old Sybil alone? She doesnt do any harm and her personal life is none of our business.I know she shouldnt post her personal circumstances on an open forum and not expect people to comment but some people are more naive than others and should be left alone
Churchmouse a very happy birthday and great to hear you are having such a good day

Brr tis a proper snow day here. It's the 1st day i've not managed to get in to work as all the buses to my village are off.
I should have had an interview this morning but couldn;t get there through the snow so they sent me the assessments and gave me a teleconference instead - very surreal as I was sat in my PJs and the cat was trying to climb on my knee as she thought I'd sat down to give her a cuddle!!
OH just called to say his work was closed so he is on his way home, he was trying to pick up some veg for dinner as our veg box should have been delivered yesterday but of course couldn't get through. Apparently neither co-op or our grocers have any veg - might need to get inventive with the chicken tonight!
At least I know the meal planning is going well as we've not got any leftovers.
Off to do some baking now - macaroons and flapjack I think.
Hugs to all who needs em.

My apologies. I thought it was in the spirit of the thread to show concern for others. In my experience, always telling people what they want to hear isn't always a good thing. Telling me to leave her alone implies that I was attacking her. I assure you (and she) that that was not my intention.
Sorry also to MSDiva for misquoting you.
I hoped to be second time lucky posting on here but I think I am a square peg in a round hole. (and that is a criticism of me, not anyone on here, before I get told off)
Hope to see you all on some other threads.0
