 HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHURCHMOUSE
:eek::eek::eek::eek: We've got SNOW :eek::eek::eek:, twice as much than the other day.
DH has just gone out with dogs and camera, so pics will follow later
Am not going to registar Spike after all, 2 reasons 1 SNOW, 2 left my car keys in the school bus (whilst chin wagging to the driver) can't find the spare set.
So not much planned today, want to take DD's to the field with their boogey board (don't have the sledge)
How ironic - The gritter has just gone past !. Didn't come last night....
Hope you all keep safe and well xYou know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

Me again, school is closed to pupils & teaching staff. Admin staff have also been told to stay home, the other staff member who was going on the course has decided not to bother & my DD who lives near where the course is being held has phoned to tell me the roads are closed & I won't get through, so I'm staying home.
Happy B'day Churchie.
Hugs Hester

Hola!
Arrived around 10pm last night. Had a good nights sleep and now will tackle the 2 months of dust/sand which has accumulated. The sun is trying to get out, it's 9-10 degrees, but it got up to 17 during the drive down from France so hope it gets back later.
Sympathies to you all freezing over there. Belated birthday wishes Churchmouse, have not read back further yet, though I see there is some good news on Tristan, though I don't know what yet.
Off for breakfast.

Good morning everyone. Big Hugs to everyone facing up to the cr*p that life throws at them, and telling it to b****r off.
Happy Birthday Churchmouse
I set out for school, after checking my local BBC website. We weren't on there, but by the time DH and I were at the railway station, I had a phone call from a colleague to say that we were closed :j, followed by a message to confirm from my HoD. DH was relieved - school is the best part of 40 miles away (a train and a car share away), especially as he was skidding all over the place on a reasonable road. The slush is more an issue than the snow, IMHO. At least we didn't have the snow last Thursday, when I spent three and a half hours talking to to Y7 parents.
So...Today , I want to- post off my book to my swap partner.
- Chug through the washing.
- Continue sorting through my wool stash.
- Sort out the freezer, and see what I can make of the contents.
- Treat this day as a gift and make the most of it.

Good morning everybody! :hello:
Happy Birthday Churchmouse! :bdaycake:
Mudgekin, hugs to you and OH :grouphug:
Huge hugs too to Marie, Diva and Tristan, and all who need and want one :grouphug:
Well, we woke up to mental amounts of snow this morning! Our house is especially badly hit, because the wind has blown it all across the green into a mini-drift in our corner! :rotfl: Boy am I glad that the pantry is full for once! I got in loads of extra bread flour just in case... I'll check on the neighbours in a little while, if any of them need anything I'm gonna stick the breadmaker on or 'shop from the storecupboard' for them if I can, because I really don't fancy trekking to Tesco for them!
My friend is supposed to be coming today, though goodness knows if she'll arrive on time; Birmingham Airport is currently closed and the railway is just reporting 'delays'. The friend is someone I talk to online as we are both Avon sales leaders, and she is visiting from Jersey because we have an Avon meeting on Friday in Daventry. I really really hope they don't cancel the conference, it's cost her a fortune to get here.
Still, it's going to be weird, meeting an internet friend in real life! I haven't done since I was fifteen, when I tootled off to London to meet a dutch guy in his late twenties who I'd been chatting to. This was so long ago that your email address was a string of numbers and I didn't know a single other person who had the internet (a couple of my teachers used to come to our house to use it!). I couldn't understand why my parents were so worried  I suspect that might have been my 'we used to walk along the railway tracks' moment. Anyway, in case you're wondering, yes, he tried it on, and no, I wouldn't have dreamed of it. I remember coming home feeling really gutted that my 'friend' couldn't get a girl his own age :rotfl:
Anyway, not sure why I told you that. Enjoy the snow everyone, and if normal life has to go on, be sure to wrap up warm!
Hope everyone has a nice day xx0 -
