  • Meanmarie - just wanted to send you a huge hug. You don't need a reason to feel how you feel, it's enough that you feel it. I do hope you can find a way through without resorting to full meds again, but if you have to, then don't feel like you have failed. At least you tried to cut down. I just hope that you find some therapy or counselling that can help? I really believe drugs alone don't help, you need to work out what is at the back of it.

Sorry to go on - hope I haven't offended you.

Also while I am here - THANK YOU to everyone who is so happy that Tristan is awake - I am sure he wouldn't be without all the love and candles and positive thoughts that went out to him over the weekend, so thank you again, you are a very special community of people.

    MSD - That's wonderful news
    Meanmarie ((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))

LOL, no sooner did I get back to MSE than I had to do a disappearing act! The computer got hit by a serious virus and I had to wait 4 days for XH to be able to come round and fix it.

What a week! The car broke down on Sunday after I had taken OH to work. Monday OH was stood in the snow waiting 2 hours for a bus, he was so worried that I would think he had been drinking that he walked all the way to the garage to buy me flowers!! He already had a cold and has spent both his days off in bed as he developed a temperature.

DD's school was shut on Tuesday, DS hurt his dodgy shoulder having a snowball fight on Monday night so was off school sick. They were both disgruntled to find they had to go back to school this morning.

The car went to the garage this morning and bless them, they have patched it up for me for £40. It is probably going to need a part which should cost £178 but they've told me to phone them as soon as I have problems again and they will hunt for a second hand one which should only cost around £30. They didn't charge me anything for the computer diagnostics, half the labour rate and knocked off all VAT. Bless them, I've used them for six years and as soon as they heard I had been made redundant they pulled out all the stops to keep costs as low as possible.

    Afternoon all :hello:

We still have snow here but the sun is shining, which makes it seem better somehow, its cold though.

I had a bit of a mishap this morning, I was racing around trying to get everything cleaned and sorted before OH got back from his Mums.... I went outside to put some cheese out for the Robins .....and slipped off the step and landed on my posterior (that was polite wasnt it)? good job I have an abundance of padding :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
But really no harm done only to my pride :o

bargainbird - yes 4 lists takes some doin, and even with the list I still forget stuff ;)
halight - how did you get on with the interview??
Silvercharming - I worked for the council on the Benefits system some years ago, and there was a time when I loved my job, that was when we dealt with people. But there were so many changes I ended up hating it and left.
Welcome to you littleanna you will love it in here, the natives are very friendly ;):D
Csarina - OUCH toothache is awful,
Purple - Hiya hope you are relaxing and enjoying yourself
meanmarie - hope things get better for you soon, I've been there so IKWYM x

Had beef sandwiches for Lunch on lovely fresh crusty bread,
OH said he does'nt want too much for Dinner tonight just beans on toast, and who am I to argue with that ;) so I will have cheese on toasted muffins, with the last of Mums apple and sultana crumble for pud.

Its snooker night for OH tonight so I will get settled down with my knitting in front of the TV for a nice peaceful evening :T

Off to sort some books out now, I have loads, I buy them for Mum and she lends them to her friend, who then gives them back to me, I pass them on to my friend Jo, who then passes them on to a crowd of friends of ours from years back (we all used to live in the same close 25yrs ago) who then pass them on to various other friends of theirs, the WI or the local charity shop.
So they certainly do the rounds, never throw a book away whatever its about there is always someone who would like to read it.
I also leave a few on the trolley at the bottom of the lift at MIL's flats, its sheltered housing and they just love books.

    ((((((((((Hugs))))))))) for all today x

might be back later keep warm

    Afternoon all,

Have finally had to admit to myself that I think my depression is worsening...am tired all the time and sleep about 14 hours any night if I don't need to get up early next morning....not sure what to do, am still on meds at half strength, think I need to go back on full strength, can't see doctor until Monday so might see how I go until then....maybe just need to give myself a kick in the arras and get on with things, but the fact that I have no reason to be depressed doesn't mean that I can't be IYKWIM!

    Marie :grouphug:

Admitting you are depressed without a reason is a hard thing to do. I always used to think I was stupid because of it, and it makes things worse because people think depression has to be 'because' of something, and don't understand, or think you should be able to pull yourself together. and the worry of that can make it worse. You don't need a 'reason' to be depressed. The reason is chemicals in your brain and that's what the meds are for! Speak to your doctor on Monday, it sounds like the meds either aren't a high enough dose or aren't the right ones. Depression because of an event is a natural physiological reaction; what you have is an illness and it's got nothing to do with pulling yourself together, although I do find it helps to try and form a routine, to set an alarm for the same time every day and make yourself get up even if you've no real need to, make sure you eat at set times and sleep at set times to make sure you get enough but not too much of these things. Hunny, there are so many people on this thread who understand what you're going through, if you ever need us we're here for you :grouphug:

It was warmer today at work, turns out the caretaker hadn't fired up the boilers, the bursar had to sort it out this morning.
We worked a full day & most of the kids were in, despite one radio station saying we were closed!!

So there I am, bum in the air, head in the copier, swearing & cursing cos I've just burnt my arm & someone walks in my room 'Hang on' I shout, 'I'm just unjamming the **** ****** ****** machine'
'That's ok' replies the head 'no rush' What a way to make an impression.

I'm on a training course for the next 2 days so no work for me, well unless we get the 10 inches of snow forecast then I shan't go anywhere.
I'm off upstairs now to show my appreciation to hubby, who has painted the hall & stairs today, it's almost the same colour, but he's got rid of all the scuff marks from the lodgers suitcases.

    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester

  • tonight I pledge to be whirling dervish in flat:D Cleaning the flat from top to bottom for OH's folks and my folks arrival this weekend. Realised that the spare toom is a bit of dumping ground and not very comforting. So did a spree round Mr T's and managed to get some candles, holders, clock some throw cushions all for £7.65!!BARGAIN!! Will clean it and make it more homely tonight.
Also doing a bit of store cupboard challenge as well, bacon and chicken pasta bake for tea and while the oven is on I WILL do the sponge and muffins or at least one of these anyway!!!

It's been snowing here for the past hour or so with chat of -4 tonight. Keep toasty everyone xx

    MeanMarie - Hugs to you

Csarina....trust that you have now repaid that huge overpayment! Hope that you get rid of toothache soon, agree that it may be sinusitis....first time I had sinusitis I went to dentist as thought it was toothache.

Very cold here to-day, heat is on and open fire in living room, snow is still all around, mostly slushy and unpleasant.

Sybil...are you all right...don't seem to have 'seen' you for a couple of days?

Hugs to all in need or want, try to keep warm and safe

    Marie

I am not surprised with any depression. The economy and feeling unable to control any downslide or stopping bad things happening. Sometimes I feel we are sitting ducks.
