Not having a great day today
Having to househunt again:(
and not having much luck. Who is able to view in this weather?
I am running down the freezer, so whatever comes to hand that is easy for tea tonight.
I need a boost of something nice to cheer me up!An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:
:eek::mad: :beer:
I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
HI all.
Csarina - if you have toothache where there's no teeth, it sounds as if your sinuses might be playing up - they can affect the same nerves. We could do with Coldstreamalways on here - she's our resident dentist!
Dazi - I hope your backache gets better. I did something similar a couple of weeks ago - I was just sitting down and turned sideways a bit, and my back went. Why does it do that? It's happened several times over the years and the pain is horrid. I find ibuprofen helps when I can no longer stand the pain. Mine got better as suddenly as it happened, so hopefully, it won't bother you for long.
Well, the snow is melting and there's quite a lot of hard ice around, but the sun is shining so I think the rest of it will go today. It's still very cold so I don't think we've seen the last of the snow. We'll just get everything back to normal and then it will happen all over again!
Well, I have some work to do so I suppose I ought to get on with it.
(((Hugs))) to all in need.

Hi all,
blue skys and sunshine here but bitterly cold. The car door locks were frozen this morn so had to do a commando in through the boot to get in the car:eek: Snow expected later and tomorrow...BRRRRRRRRR! OH's mum text to say Aberdeen has had heavy snow with them clearing the drive at 6.30am this morn but then it had filled in again by 7.30am!
Getting excited about OH's return tomorrow he has been away far too long. He will be staying over night in aberdeen then driving down here on Friday after lunch.
Got time booked off work so pretty chuffed I will have a 4 day weekend although I have to go to the funeral tomorrow for my Aunt. Will be a very sad day I think and not looking forward to it.
The sponge and muffin making last night did not happen:o But tonight it shall as well as cleaning the flat from top to bottom in prep for all the peeps arriving this weekend.
Purple - Enjoy the sun, wish I was there!
Halight - Good luck for your interview
Csarina - Councils have no idea. OH got a letter saying they had closed the account and want to give us BACK the money we have paid. Strange considering we haven't instructed them to close account and have been paying and living there since October. They have not taken money this month so he is going to phone them on Fri and ask what is going on!
OS- no idea today as totally not organised...very shameful...
HUGS TO ALL!Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
Morning peeps
very bright and sunny here today, thought that we were going to get a bit of a thaw here but there`s no evidence of that in the garden. Haven`t been out with the hounds yet but i shall be doing that soon.
Managed to get home from w*rk last night without too much trouble, the main roads were all clear but the side roads are shocking, all compacted snow and ice. I shall clear some more from the driveway and footpath later.
Nice day off today so i shall be making bread rolls and soup for later, tea is cod fillets wedges and peas and i have an enormous turkey leg defrosting in the kitchen ready to put in the slowcooker overnight tonight.
Patentgirl - I put red lentils in the slowcooker on a low setting and they cook just fine.
I have lots to do today but just can`t seem to muster up the energythe last couple of days seem to have been constant w*rk and now that i`ve time to wind down i don`t want to move.
Maximum Impact - :rotfl: at the dressing gown and pj`s, where i live in summer there is always someone walking around the local park dressed this way late at night giving their doggies the last walk of the day before bed. Never seen it in winter though
Well i`m promising myself that when this cuppa is finished i shall get wrapped up and go with the houndies. Have a good day peeps and i`ll be back later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Morning everyone! Hope this finds you well & warm. Cold here today but I'm keeping busy so not noticing it yet
Been shopping this morning £70 as I'm now buying for 6 of us - 5 with adult appetites  but I'll keep OS'ing as much as possible elsewhere. All children back in school/college today after a few days of the sniffles just me & DD's bf here at the mo but he's going for a college interview soon. He asked me to accompany him I was so touched :A He's doing ok considering what he's been through recently. I'm organising some counselling for him which will hopefully be useful in helping him come to terms with the rejection he's gone through.
WM been on 3 times and I've got 2 loads on clothes maidens to dry. One of my maidens collapsed under the strain on Sunday & I've been using it held together with cable tiesbut am buying a new one today. It was killing my back contorting round to get the clothes on & every time someone walks past it it was collapsing a bit more  Sweet & sour chicken & rice for tea, sandwich for lunch & then the dreaded ironing to do - it's been breeding in the basket again
I've still got the cake made yesterday to keep them going with snacks I've iced it this morning so it'll disappear quickly.
Have a good day everyone (((((((((hugs)))))))))) all round

Morning all!
Just sitting here reading the boards in my thick socks, thick tracky bottoms, tshrt, thin sweater and thick hoody given to me by my OH.Haven't seen them since last May and I have been missing them a lot lately so Gap Hoody gets worn a lot.
Waiting for the postie to decide to arrive. Got woken up at 8.30 by what I'd hoped was the post came clattering through the letter box but it was only a load of irrelevant bumpf from the council on schools, doctors with a asian pizza place ()and taxi thing slung in.We haven't had any post here since Saturday even tho the roads and paths were clear and melted yesterday. I am expecting now 5 parcels and at least 6 letters not including 3 dvds from Lovefilm and on top of that my flatmate usually gets a few things each day. I fear for the state of our halfbust letterbox when it all arrives..
Got to jobsearch today I think.. been a bit of a lazy mare in that regard last coupla days not that there will be much listed online etc. After that washing up , tidying up some papers and finishing off a coupla books.I want to get my library ones taken back so I can read some from my stockpile before selling them.
Was going to buy tickets online for a concert next Thursday. Kinda an obscene extravagance at £15 each (only be paying for my own tho) but I love this singer and always have a fab time with his amusing and often beautiful songs and he doesnt gig very often. Besides I used to go to rock concerts regularly and it has been a few years now since I went to one. But with the weather maybe it woudl be best if we paid on the door. The venue is quite big and I don't think it will sell out. There is usually lots of room. Will have to restrain myself at the merchandise stand as he sells the most amazing brightly coloured and wackily or tasteful designs and his cds are hard to find in shops.
Brekky - none (good girl trying to lose weight. felt guilty after last night making a pud of 2 bananas. 1 1/2 flakes and some chopped nuts.)
Lunch - Covent Garden carrot and coriander soup with LO cooked basmati rice thrown in
Dinner - either fish and chips from the local award winning chippy(treat I can only have when flatmates business partner rents a car) or my cheapo oniony rice thing.
Will prob BBL.. off to read the thread now. Hope you are all warm and well and hugs to those who need them.:grouphug: Good luck with the interview Halight. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
:hello: Good morning!
tru - thanks for answering my question! I did try to pm you but your message box is fullI think we may try a humane trap first and see if we have any luck -(will have to take it to the park if we catch anything in it!). Where my DS used to work, and still helps out when they're busy (it's a bar) they had a rat recently:eek: and put poison down - it worked, but of course there was then a horrible smell as it had died but they couldn't find it _pale_ Sorry, TMI I think!
csarina - We pay our Council Tax over 10 months rather than 12 and they don't take any out in Feb and March. I just thought I'd mention it, in case you do the same and it had slipped your mind
redruby - Thanks for the news of your nephew! It sounds as if he's in a good place, bless him.
halight - Good luck with the interview! Sometimes job interviews are organised by the JobCentre because the employer concerned hasn't a suitable place to do them, or because they want the JobCentre to sort out a shortlist for them to interview themselves.
HockeyDuo - Hope the funeral goes as well as poss (((HUGS)))
The nursery DGks go to on Weds and Thurs had a notice on their door yesterday saying "For health and Safety reasons the Nursery has been closed." Hopefully it was only because not enough staff had been able to get there, and not because the building's falling down or something  DD had a bad cough a few weeks ago and still has a pain in her chest so she was hoping to see the doctor again if the nursery was open today. I told her that if necessary we could look after DGS if she could take DGD with her to the surgery, but we haven't heard anything from her so hopefully the nursery is open and she's been able to see the doc and then go into work late.
Breakfast today was Weetabix
Lunch - sandwiches
Dinner - cottage pie, or possibly something involving chicken and peppersI have a recipe from a diabetes cookbook for a stirfry with chicken, peppers and spring onions, with soy sauce (only we cheat and use sweet chilli dipping sauce
but we're a bit tired of that.
((((HUGS)))) to all those in need of some.

Morning :hello:
csarina, I see somebody has already posted what I was going to post re: council tax. It's quite standard for no CT to be due in Feb and March if you pay by direct debit. It's "saving" me £142 over these 2 months (OK, I know it's not really a saving, it just feels like one) which will go towards overpaying the mortgage :j
halight - good luck with the interview!
MaximumImpact - :rotfl: I thought I was bad, going out for the newspaper on Saturday mornings to the corner shop (10 seconds walk from my front door) in jim-jams, bedsocks, winter coat and fake Uggs
I love porridge too. I'm never hungry first thing in the morning, but I walk to work (40 mins) and am always starving and half-frozen by the time I get here - so I then have porridge (value oats with sem-skimmed milk) done in the microwave, with a chopped-up banana stirred in and a topping of brown sugar
I was really knackered last night and didn't do any cooking, so will have to do that curry this evening. I'm flat-out at work, as hardly anybody was in the office on Monday and they all owe me bits of information for two reports I'm trying to compile. I wonder if today I can get home from work with my eyes still open
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape
