For those having trouble with the old style FB group, look on my home page under groups, where you will find the old style group, I don't think its closed as such, but just that you have to request to join, you must put your mse name when requesting, its another mse'r who runs it, but I remember how lost I was when I first joined FB
Anyway good news today as dd is signing up for the house near me:j :j :j I can babysit then stagger back at all hours of the morning:D

Hi everyone!! I finally made it on here after lurking for a very long time!! :j
Hello to my new Facebook friends! Trying to get my head round your MSE names & real names.
Well thanks to everyone on here I am gradually becoming more OS - especially on the shopping and cooking front. Not bought any ready meals for months and the freezer is full.
Not managed much flying yet and the house is still a tip but I'm sure I'll get there before my retirement in ten years time!! lol
At work this morning then taking Mum for her last radiotherapy treatment. W.I. panto rehearsal tonight.
Breakfast: porridge (value oats, skimmed milk & golden syrup in microwave)
Lunch: Toast and marmite plus a banana
Dinner: HM Shepherds pie & homegrown veggies from freezer
Did the washing on Economy 7 during the night and made a loaf in BM.

Tristan is awakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
He sent me an email with three kisses in it! He will be sleeping again now of course but I am going to keep coming back to check messenger later today.
Will read the thread now but just had to share the great news with you all as you have all been so kind and supportive.

Hi again all. STILL waiting for postie and by my calculations I am now owed 7 parcels. 3 dvds and about 20 letters. if they are having trouble finding posties I can walk to the sorting office with ID and collect - it is only 5 -10 mins walk away and the paths have been walkable every day (for the last 2 days with no snow on at all) This having to wait in is stopping me even leaving the house for like 5 mins to get milk let alone do errands or buy groceries.I can't leave til this stuff arrives as when they come to call if you are not in it adds another 2 days onto your wait for item.I am thoroughly disgusted with the work ethic of our local postal service. This is West London and I live in the town centre.Areas much worse affected than us have had deliveries this week. I would phone them to complain and ask if I can collect but they never answer their phone.
The delay of these deliveries is even hampering my jobsearch as one of the items is a copy of Microsoft Office from a friend which I need to redo my CV after losing the memory stick that had my only electronic copy of it on..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

Not liking singing praqctice very much today - my voice isn't working properly for some reason. I've got 'As Long As He Needs Me' sorted now, trying to work on 'Another Hundred Trains' from Company and 'If I Loved You' from Carousel (if you're at all interested) Off to my audition in a bit - wish me luck! I may well need it :rotfl:
Just eaten lovely beef stew and HM bread for lunch, going to have salmon for dinner tonight, fancy trying something new with the potatoes - any ideas? I'm getting really into cooking at the moment - it's all this OS influence I think2019 Aim: Save £10,000

Afternoon OS friends!
Caught up with the threads now..
purpleivy - hope the holiday works and that you start to feel better
Hermoine, Churchmouse and Nesssie - hope that you all finally got some sleep
r-mac - stop hanging on to that baby!!
halight - good luck with the interview
ladymay - good luck with the audition - I was a semi pro singer for years - 'As long as he needs me' always makes me cry! Oh, and I live the other side of the bay from Newton Abbot, but know it well as always had to change trains there!
csarina -Beurocracy gone mad! Oh and thanks for the car suggestion - myOH says it might be a bit small inside but is going to book a test drive.
sunnygirl - still thinking of you and your houseguest
ivyleaf - yes, it's £500 advance payment but we are hoping to ask for a grant if I can work out how! We still have a couple more cars to try.
Sunnyday - it's so unusual to have snow down here, we all took pics I think...
littleanna -to the thread! you will love it here!
We ended up having bacon, sausage and bean spicy casserole last night for dinner with enough left for tonight and then tomorrow it will be the belly pork from the lovely butchers we discovered! The sausages were lovely and I am really fussy about sausages, it drives my OH mad, so he is pleased I liked them!
Just had more energy saving lightbulbs sent to me and have no memory of asking for them. I only have three places in the house I can use them (other rooms either have spot lights or dimmer switches) so I have far more than I will ever need!to everyone - and thank you all again for being so wonderful over the weekend with your candles and positive thoughts, I know that is why Tristan is now awake and however long he has left, this must be wonderful for his family to have him 'back' for a little while.
Personally I can't stop smiling!!

Well as Richard thingy would say 'I don't believe it' we got a letter from the council this morning saying that they have OVERPAID us by 58p for council Tax benefit......it has cost them a lot more than that to write and tell us........
Ivy - because of the way our pensions are paid we pay over 12 months......we have civil service pensions which do not come in with our rises until April 12th and 26th so as it usually takes them 8 weeks to sort things out we end up paying right through until the end of March, it drives me crazy.........I am sure when I pass on, if they do a post mortem they will find s** the council tatooed into my brain.........LOL
I have been busy this morning, I have had all the kitchen drawers out cleaned them out and replaced them, chucked a load of things away, why do we just shove rubbish in the drawer and close it????? Tmorrow I need to tackle the kitchen cupboards. I am toying with the idea of using fablon to line the shelves so its easier to clean. I havso decided to junk the cooker the council provided, I hit my head on it again today. So I am going to buy my own......I want a double oven with a ceramic hob but it has to be just 50cms wide, thats the size of the hole. I found one In Argos, a Beko.....I have a beko fridge freezer but have not had any experience with their cookers......
I just did a search on the internet and found the next model up with a programmable timer for £10 less than Argos and delivery in 2 days........just what I was looking for.....wait now to hear when the dozy devils from the council are coming to take the old one out....then I can order the new one.........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0
