I suspect that people are getting more from the "Worst" destinations. I know I have. Dominican Republic has dropped down and out of my list of places to visit.

Best: (In no particular order) Venice, Sicily, Budapest, Havana, New Zealand, Albania and The Azores.

Worst: Bialilystok and Lelystad. O.K. that's a little unfair, as neither place are selling themselves as places to visit.

i've not been to the "major" resorts in the Dominican... but look at "Cayo Levantado". Maldives environment with Caribbean prices. Amazing..
  • Best Place- Turunc in turkey ( bit of a trek to get to but well worth it)
    worst- tunisia sousse
    credit card bill. £0.00
    overdraft £0.00
    Help from the state £0.00

Best - Tanzania. I did voluntary work out there as well as going on safari, and the experience cannot be put into words.

Worst - probably Salou or Magaluf. Get on a plane, land in one of these places and feel like you've paid a few hundred to go to Blackpool on a Saturday night with a little extra sunshine.

    I've like most places I've been & don't really have a fav.

    But Magaluf was the worst.

Kayenta is awful but, in Monument Valley, is close to one of the most incredible places on Earth to be fair!

My DH wants to go there, he has this notion of camping out there for a night (I think he wants to pretend he John Wayne:o  ).

I'm NOT camping anywhere, but especially not where there are snakes/nasties:eek:
  • Best - Costa Maya, Key West and Blackpool. Yes Blackpool! The walk on the prom from the North to South shore is fabulous, winter or summer although a fine summer day is preferable. Blackpool Tower is a stunning building inside. Sometimes you have to look at these places with fresh eyes.

Worst - Abufeira (sp)- Portugal, this was many years ago. Terrible food and nothing to do.

Good; because I shall be spending 4 days in Blackpool this summer. Never been, looking forward to riding on the trams.

Best-Barcelona (that breathtaking cathedral, and I don't usually go for them)
Paris, great atmosphere if you avoid the grubby bits and don't get to meet any of th arrogant ones.
Rome,a feeling of how ancient the civilisation is (don't even notice the graffiti, but it bothers some)
Florence-like going back in time, but like a lot of Italy shockingly expensive with the exchange rate.

Worst-can only think of Croatia, didn't find the people that warm.
  • Best- Bryce Canyon, Utah at sunrise. WOW!
Worst- Tenerife. It maybe different now as it was a few years ago when we visited. Kids loved it but we disliked the tackiness of it all.
