The best place we have been to is Santorini we stopped at a B&B on the sea front in Kamari called Arion Bay, which was superb value for money. Easyjet have cheap flights from Gatwick.

Best, I really couldnt say. I would have to suggst either Venezuela, Cuba or malawi. but loved our recent trip to death valley & vegas late last year too.

Worst, think i might say Dominican republic, the amount of hassle I experienced there was really something else- thats why im putting it as the worst. Mind you the country is gorgeous, went whale watching, horse riding through the mountains, the food fantastic, weather superb.... just not fine as a solo traveller for the amount of hassle.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Loved most places I have been, really loved Rome, daughter fell in love with Venice, son loves Paris, would love to take him again. Turkey was a revelation, thought of it in Midnight Express terms but its a beautiful country.
Florida was wonderful too, so much fun! Krakow was great but for some reason the kids hated it, maybe 'cos it rained none stop!

Places I was disappointed in....Thurso in Scotland. Hated it, a stop off for the Orkney's, full of teenagers racing cars in the middle of the night.

New York I don't think there was anything wrong with it, its just I had such high expectations so was disappointed.

Prague, again I expected more, I don't know what!

Torremolinos and Benidorm were just......horrible! Barcelona's great as is Majorca!
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Best - Greece and a family RV holiday across the USA
    Worst - Turkey.

    I know what you're thinking.
Greece and Turkey have the same type of landscape, same weather, similar food.
But the difference is in the people - our worst-ever family holiday was in Turkey where we found the people grasping, rude and hugely dismissive of women. My wife was constantly hassled by men both physically and verbally.
Yet we've probably been to Greece a dozen times and always found the Greeks charming, eloquent and very friendly.
I realise, of course, that the whole subjects of Greeks v Turks is subjective and steeped in history but I just wanted to answer the OP as honestly as possible.

Best = Vancouver or Hong Kong

Worst = in terms of a run down city, Bratislava. Think that the stag and hen parties have helped to create a poor impression of the British here
  • BEST - Florida (Orlando) - so much fun, Croatia - beautiful and has kept its culture.

WORST - has got to be Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, Just think Blackpool Illuminations. Wasn't overly impressed with Milan either
