    Thanks for the advice cappo.

    I'm after more advice now!

Things were a bit complex back in 2006 for me and I changed current accounts from RBS to LTSB. I had Credit cards with RBS but I have no idea if it had ppi (it probably did, I was young and naive). I have an account number but I'm not 100% sure it is for RBS. Would I be best doing a SAR for that, or should I just submit it with what I think is the account number and then they can tell me if I'm wrong? I've tried calling them but got no where. I suppose I could go into branch.
Money, money, money, must be funny....in a rich mans world.

Good idea waddy go into the branch first and see how you get on as if they sort it out for you it'll save you a tenner, otherwise sar them
  • Not sure if this is the correct forum. By I had my car on fiat finance with payment insurance. I have just had a letter to say it is now changing to credit protection insurance. So I have looked at the original paperwork and think that the insurance might be front loaded because it states the amount of credit for the insurance and the amount payable below and its an extra £500 does this mean this is interest on the insurance and do I have a possible claim?

Anymore that apply to you,put them.
Dont cancel the insurance until you find out if you have won redress, the loan will be reset and may attract a higher apr and term.
  • Think I have been mis-sold on my Halifax loan as they didn't ask me if I wanted it. I remember clearly. Will post my success/failure in here
  • Hi, I have been contacted out of the blue by the Claims Advisory Group suggesting I may be entitled to a refund on PPI? I really don't know how they got my details and for they believe I am owed? Is this normal?
If I am owed something I could do with the money, just seems a little too good to be true and unexpected?

    Read this

    And steer clear.

If you have had loans and credit cards that have had ppi on and you were mis sold, look here for reasons

Then write to the lender, some do this over the phone, tell them you were mis sold this ppi because...then give your reasons.

It is as easy as that, and if you win redress, you keep it all,you dont give a chunk to a company who get you to get all the info and they post it for you!!.

If you need anymore help FOR FREE just ask.
  • Hi

I received a decision letter from FSCS today offering just short of £3,500 compensation for mis sold PPI with Welcome Finance. As my loan is still ongoing, they have informed me that they mus off set this, thus reducing my loan amount. Needless to say, this was a surprise; my understanding was this could be off set against arrears, but I obviously mis understood.

Having read some forums, apparently Welcome are refusing to either reduce the monthly repayments or loan term in this circumstance.... Surely they can't do this?

I've sent an email to Welcome, but given past experience, I don't expect to hear back any time soon.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Everyone on here knows me, I do not mince my words, I say it as it is.

Something I have heard is very disturbing, and it is from a very reliable source, at the moment I cannot reveal more.

This is not a joke, it is real.

Stephen Hester giving his bonus back was just a rouge. The RBS and certain government members spiked the press with the story knowing the reaction, it was a publicity stunt and in actual fact, Hester would not have taken the bonus anyway but it was led to believe he would and by giving it back would make him look good.
The press fell for this scam

So you know, the banks, the FSA, the FOS, the government, employ people who monitor this site and those similar

They read what you are saying, no problem for you, more market research for them.

I can also tell you that the FSA (FOS) are actually in the hands of the banks, they are NOT for the people.

For once they have hoodwinked the press, who have fell for it, hook line and sinker ?

For the press, look at the motives of the FSA, look at who could be doing deals with the banks ..... look at possible corruption

This is a can of worms yet to be opened
