Absolutely shocked lol
Sent my PPI reclaim to First Plus on 15/12/11 and response was due 20/2/12, just got in to find letter for First Plus upholding our complaint and offering full settlement. I nearly fell off my chair!!! Almost £6k back.
Thanks to everyone that has helped on this.
And quick note to all newbies.....please dont use a claims firm, this really is easy to do and if you follow the guidance on here - especially Beamerguys useful check list you should have a good argument to go in with.
Give em hell guys and let the bankers know the little guys wont roll over this time!!!!!!:beer::j:j:beer::beer::money:Hoping 2015 will be a better year0 -
Everyone on here knows me, I do not mince my words, I say it as it is.
Something I have heard is very disturbing, and it is from a very reliable source, at the moment I cannot reveal more.
This is not a joke, it is real.
Stephen Hester giving his bonus back was just a rouge. The RBS and certain government members spiked the press with the story knowing the reaction, it was a publicity stunt and in actual fact, Hester would not have taken the bonus anyway but it was led to believe he would and by giving it back would make him look good.
The press fell for this scam
So you know, the banks, the FSA, the FOS, the government, employ people who monitor this site and those similar
They read what you are saying, no problem for you, more market research for them.
I can also tell you that the FSA (FOS) are actually in the hands of the banks, they are NOT for the people.
For once they have hoodwinked the press, who have fell for it, hook line and sinker ?
For the press, look at the motives of the FSA, look at who could be doing deals with the banks ..... look at possible corruption
This is a can of worms yet to be opened
This would not surprise me at all it does explain a lot actually like why the fsa are always rolling over to be kicked by the banks with no action taken against them for there abysmal treatment of customers claims.0 -

I want to try and claim back credit card ppi but I really am not sure what to do. the credit cards were from about 6 years ago and I dont even know the numbers on them etc as i lost wallet about 3 years ago and when i got replacement cards they were new credit card numbers. I dont pay ppi now on the one i have, if I am filling in the ppi questionnaire to lloyds what do i put in the box where it asks for the card number as like i say the card i have now doesnt have ppi on it? hope that makes sense and is not too jumbled0

Hi sitcom don't worry all credit cards with a lender when there renewed have a different number for security reasons but the new cards will still be for the original accounts so put in a claim using the new numbers that is all you need

Pressure grows for more action to strip bankers of knighthoods
** Tories call for former Lloyds TSB and HBOS chiefs to lose titles
** Follows decision to remove Fred Goodwin's knighthood
** Downing Street also looking to strip shamed RBS banker's pension
** Critics claim Mr Goodwin is being made a scapegoat
READ IT HERE
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2095164/Fred-Goodwin-latest-Pressure-grows-action-strip-bankers-knighthoods.html
I said at the start of this year that its only just started for the banks,
Hester was the start, followed by Goodwin and soon other so called high flyers will be in trouble, just deserves for the VILLIANS
I see that Sir Jackie Stewart who is a pal of Goodwin, thinks Goodwin has been made a scapegoat ??
Doubtful Stewart was affected by the the actions of the SHRED MAN, so he is not in a position to comment, best keep to driving cars Jackie !
Then there are the business leaders claiming it amounted to hysteria.
Guess these are the "old boys" club who probably have loads of skeletons in their own cupboards just waiting to pop out.
Goodwin has been disgraced and he should have his obscene pension taken away. Goodwin should be prosecuted and have all his assets stripped from him, his money, his homes etc etc to repay the taxpayer
Mr Goodwin steered the RBS to the biggest corporate disaster in British history. The bosses of the FSA must have known about this, after all they are paid high salaries by the government. Maybe their heads should roll.
Some say this is a witch hunt, it is more a "crooks and corruption" hunt.
As they say "we have started so we will finish"
In days gone past, a traitor to the realm had his head cut off and "it was usual for the executioner to cut off the head and hold it aloft with the cry `here is the head of a traitor"
We are just doing this 2012 style0 -
Hi all,
I am just wondering about the ins and outs of claiming for PPI. At the beginning of Novemeber last year I sent a claim to Welcome finance regarding mis-sold PPI. I heard nothing back so called at the beginning of DEcemeber to be told my claim was awaiting Manager approval but they couldnt tell me how long that would take. Today after still hearing nothing I called again, this time to be told that my claim had been fully investigated but involved a third party insurance broker and this was what was holding up my claim, again no comment of timeframe.
Was just wonering if anyone else has had any experience of this, or with welcome finance and if I should be doing anything else other than wait0 -

Hi, Welcome are currently in default. If payments were made to Welcome by you regardless if a broker was involved, they are responsible to you so remind them of this and demand your money back0 -
Thanks beamer, wasnt sure but thought this might be a delay tactic......will be giving them another call later0

Update on my claim for mis-sold PPI by Lloyds. I've now received an acknowledgement letter from them, stating they will respond to my complaint within 8 weeks, which gives them until 27/03/12 to get back to me.
Out of interest, and looking at things optimistically, if they do come back with an offer of a payback, what should I expect to receive? The PPI payments on my loan amounted to just shy of £2k. Is that what they'll offer to refund me?One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0
