Hi All
Has anyone here claimed PPI with GE Money? Just asking because I sent off my FOS questionaire on 23/01/12 and received a written response on 26/01/12 quoting the same agreement number as I had and advising they have until 12/03/12 to respond.
I have arrived home today and I have another two letters both addressed to me and referring to my telephone call of 26/01/12 but I didnt make one!. These quote two completely different agreement numbers I don't recognise, and advise me they have until 26/03/12 to respond.
I am not sure whether :-
A) They have sent me letters that were meant for someone else,They have just split out the loan and PPI into two complaints, and the agreement numbers are their internal references?
C) I have maybe had something else with GE Money in the past (a store card etc) that they are looking into.
Any advice welcomed.
This could be more ppi loans/cc that they have found,to clarify this, give them a ring.0 -
Hi,if this loan was refinanced, there will have been a rebate of ppi given on this, with the redress they will have taken this amount back.
Are they looking at the refinanced loan too?,as there may be the remaining ppi from the redress one above, put onto this loan, less the rebate amount.
No sorry didn't explain correctly, the offer is for the last loan which refinanced the previous loan. They wont look at the previous loan, we have no other paperwork for these loans (well loans as each loan has same account number but is followed by 01, 02 , 03 and 04. I only have proof of 03 and 04)
But there figures are different to the actual paperwork I sent in on £300 pound but just feel cheated0 -
This is off topic to this forum but does anyone here watch TV online with their computer ?
I often do as I am working on my computer.
We are told that we need a TV licence to watch online, I have a house licence but what is disturbing me is the fact that they say "to watch tv online you need a licence ... YET many programs you are not allowed to watch and BBC/ITV say it is for legal reasons ?????
If you can't watch it, why do the government expect you to pay for something that is not available ???
This is a fraud that Cameron needs to sort out quickly
Hi beamerguy, it only applies to programmes that are being shown on TV at the same time as on line. If the premises has a licence then no problem. I think they are on about businesses where employees watch on line and the business doesn't have a licence. It's the same for radio, not a lot of people know that you have to have a licence to listen to the radio in work premises, even if you're a one man operation.
A TV Licence is legally required if anyone – whether staff or customers - watches TV programmes at the same time as they are shown on TV, whether on a computer, TV or any other type of equipment. If an employee is caught watching TV illegally, the business may be held liable and fined up to £1,000.Successes

Hi, I'm totally confused on PPI. My husband and I took out a mortgage with Abbey in 1999 and paid it off whenwe moved house in 2006. It was a repayment mortgage along with an endowment mortgage. We paid a monthly fee of £231.52 on the repayment and £274.95 on the endowment. Building/contents and Payment care payment were included in the repayment. We cashed in the endowment when we sold the house and got back over £8,000 in 2006. When we took out the mortage we had no idea you could go elsewhere for the insurances, Abbey gave us a quote for the whole mortgage. When my husband was made redundant in 2006 we put in a claim which was successful and paid the repayment mortgage untill we sold. Can you tell me would we be able to claim anything or not?0

Hiya, yup know all that but the point is, they want us to pay the full fee when many programmes are not available on the net, that is wrong and is taking money when the service is not provided, that is NOT fair trading is it0 -

Hi I had previous advice on here about the possible mis-selling of PPI on three mortgages and have taken the first steps.
I sent a letter to the Cheshire asking for details of the mortgage we held with them (as I no longer have any details only the account number). I asked for details of the mortgage account and a copy of the credi agreement under Section77-79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Someone had kindly linked me to a standard letter to request this info.
I had a letter back yesterday from the Cheshire stating that the account is not regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and have therefore returned the paperwork.
Have I stated the wrong thing in my letter?? Or what does this mean have I got any ground to go back to them.
Many ThanksClaire0 -
If this mortgage account is closed, they do not have to provide you with any details.
You will have to do a SAR,enclose £10 and give them 40 days to respond.0
