some time ago i put in a complaint with Cap 1, they sent back a letter saying they would not uphold my complaint because they felt i was eligible to claim on the PPI, this despite me telling them that I have a copy of the agreement that I ticked NO to PPI and that I am a civil servant.
So I wrote them a very long letter that went like this:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently contacted you regarding PPi that had been fraudulently added to my account by your team.
You responded to my complaint stating that you had reviewed my complaint and have concluded that with the information that you hold that you have no evidence of a mis sell and that you believe that I am eligible to claim on the insured risks.
I reiterate what I said in my original complaint to you:
I did not agree to purchase this policy.
I ticked NO on the original application, I would not have changed my mind when activating the card.
I am NOT I repeat NOT eligible to claim on the insured risks as I am covered for those by my employer.
I DO NOT accept your response as final, you have NOT completed a comprehensive review.
You have evidence through my letter that
A) I DID NOT want PPII am covered by my employer.
I demand that unless you review your decision and uphold my complaint, that you send me a recording of the telephone conversation so that I can forward that and my copy of the ticked 'NO box for PPI' agreement to the Financial Ombudsman.
I expect a written response within 14 days of receipt of this letter
Yours
Anyway yesterday had a letter saying they are looking into my complaint and this may take 7 weeks, this letter is from the same man who said the last letter was his final response..Obviously changed his mind heehee!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -
Hello I wonder if anyone can help me. I was turned down by M and S and put a claim in to the ombudsman. I am a bit confused because I received another letter from M and s again turning me down. Does this mean that the ombudsman are still looking at the case?0

I take it I can just amend this letter to make it for mortgage MPI?
ThanksClaire0 -
I recently contacted my credit card providers as I wasn't actually sure if I even had PPI. It turns out that I have had PPI on two of my cards for a substantial amount of time, I have had my Lloyds TSB MasterCard for approx 20 years and my Marbles MasterCard for approx 12 years. I have contacted both by telephone and made my complaint and received letters from both stating that they will look into whether I was miss sold the PPI. I haven't however been asked to provide any other information, is this normal?0
