marcusarelius wrote: »Hi All,
I have a PPI complaint lodged with Tesco Bank at the moment which was rejected and has been sent to the FOS. But i notice on my original loan document it says Tesco/RBS - i am just wondering should i have complained to RBS instead or as well?
edit: RBS have just emailed me back to say any complaints after Aug 2010 go direct to Tesco even if the loan was taken out in 2008
Hi marcus i myself dealt with rbs last year see what tesco says0 -
Hi, after reading lots of the posts on here i decided to put in a PPI mis-selling case against Natwest for a loan going back to 1993, sent off my SAR and the cheque for £10. 40 days have passed and I've received nothing, and the cheque hasn't been cashed, I have proof the letter was received under the tracking service for royal mail, but don't know whether to send another letter and give them another 40 days. If anyone can advise me i'd be grateful. RBS/Natwest won't talk to me unless I can give account details. Don't know what to do next.
i have had this with HSBC myself there just not bothering, it's time to contact the ico if rbs won't deal with you and they are being too unreasonable.

Nice one del thats fantastic news and yes you can use the money to make a full and final settlement offer as you get your cheques and it's a great idea as it'll get you debt free, remember though to preferably do it through a third party (settle) as a third party settling the debt for you is more legally binding so do your homework first. good luck:T:T:T:T:):):):):):beer::beer::beer::beer::j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:money::money::money::money::money::D:D:D:D:D:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Hello. I'm getting round to filling in my PPI questionaire. My problem is that I originally got the loan out from British Gas. I have some of the paperwork. The credit agreement says that the loan agreement is made between myself and Centrica Personal Finance No.1772586 addressed in Chester. I'm looking them up now and they don't exist however Automobile Association Personal Finance apparently traded under that name previously and are now based in Halifax with the same number (1772586).
Would I be sending my claim to AA in Halifax now? Will they claim they don't know what's going on? Does anyone know of any successful claims against this organisation? "Appointed Representative - Former" is what the FSA say they are. What does this mean?

I was directed to this site via a link on a football forum, so the word spreads!!
Obviously, over a thousand pages on this thread makes hard reading, so my apologies if this question has been covered, but here goes:
If, like me, you have been chopping and changing credit-cards/mortgages etc every 2 years or so, and have little or no paper record of what card/mortgage you had over which time period, how on earth do you start to even thinking about claiming PPI back?
I still hold an independant PPI for sickness/accident/unemployment which I've had for several years now (was recommended by my then financial advisor), and have succesfully claimed on that policy in the past, following a long-term sickness (nore on that in a minute).
I have nearly always taken out payment protection with cards/loans etc, mainly because the provider suggested it was best, but as originally stated, there have been so many changes I simply can't remember what I've had.
Help!!
Second thing.........and this is a comment rather than a question......
few mornings ago, a letter from Halifax dropped throught the door, totally unexpectedly.
Now, the last Halifax product i had was a c/card over 2 years ago, but more importantly, a mortgage over 4 years ago.
Back in early 2007 (when the Halifax mortgage was active) I suffered a serious disc/spine injury, which required major surgery, and resulted in 6 months off sick. (I was, and always have been employed, and received basic pay, but lost all shift pay).
This Halifax letter referred to a claim I made through them for a payout based on this sick period, but was ultimately declined (I honestly can not recall the exact details).
They have asked me to complete a shed load of forms giving details of the injury and time off etc, as it would seem the refusal to pay out may now be reviwed??
I have no idea where this came from, as I made no request for a review, but I've filled the forms and await a response.
Anyone else know of similar?
Thanks for any help.......and well done to the admins on this busy forum.
I know what you have to deal with
An update to the halifax issue.......
A few weeks later, Halifax wrote back, re-confirming their original decision to decline my claim.
Reason?....
I took the credit card (and associated PPI) out in Feb 2007. (It was, afterall, the Credit card that was the issue here, not the mortgage).
By my own admittance, the period of illness commenced in Dec 2006, with my sick-leave commencing jan 2007. Therefore, when the card and PPI started, I had a pre-existing condition, and as such under the terms of PPi, could make no claim.
I countered this by saying that with such a pre-existing medical issue, why was I sold PPI when it was quite possible I may need to make a claim? In their own words, I had a pre-existing medical problem, and as such, should never have been offerd PPI on the card.
I escalated the issue to a full PPI claim-back.
Fast forward to Feb 2012, and I have a final settlement cheque sitting in the bank, for £1400.
They quite obviously shot themselves in the foot here. I probably would never have even thought about claiming this had they not re-checked the original claim!!!!!0 -
I have today had a letter from Capital one up holding my complaint re PPI
Premiums £5420.54
Interest £78.75
Additional 8% interest £1969.46
Total amount £7468.75
Calculations date from Jan 2003 cancelled April 2008
I have spoken to capital one who claim there is no interest charged on PPI! Now would this be correct as when i had a claim with MBNA the interest redress was as much as the premiums paid.
If someone know the correct answer this would be great don't want to sell myself short on the money front lolPayment a Day : Creation £1416.05 Cleared June 2017
Capital One : £2169.37 Cleared May 2018
M & S : £3207.29 Cleared May 2018
First direct £4900.00 Cleared July 2018
Next £2206 Cleared September 2018
Capital One Platium £2800.00 Cleared November 20180 -

Hi can anyone help me, my husband purchased a car from Available Car and we were asked if we wanted PPI Insurance we said no we would sort our own out, so he ticked in his paperwork that it was not needed (we have a copy). about a month later 19.00 started going out of the bank, so he rang up and we found out it was PPI. by this time my husband started to have trouble with his knee's so we decided to keep it incase he had to have time off. well 3 1/2 years later my husband went into hospital for a op for his knee with up to 6 months off work. so we decided to claim and after 3 months they have go back to us saying they will not payout on the claim because they say that he started with the problem before we took out the PPI (even though we did not want it). Have we got a case of mis-sold due to the fact we said we didn't want it or the fact they say he had the problem with his knee before we took PPI out.
can someone help please.0 -
