  • Hello everyone, can anyone advise on the final response letter my O,H recvd today,
Loan 1. Refund of the cost of PPI instalments paid over the term of loan-£1407.54
Plus int at %8 on the PPI instalments
    £642.15
    TOTAL £2049.69

Loan 2. Refund of the cost of PPI up to when loan was repaid £55.32
Plus int at %8 on the PPI instalments £17.73
    Total £73.05

Loan 3 refund of the cost of PPI paid over term of loan £1184.44
Plus 8% int on the PPI installments you paid £213.26
    TOTAL £1397.70

    Loans 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Due to the time elapsed, we are unable to investigate these loans further. If you are in posssession of the original loan agreements, can you arrange to send these to above adress, in order that we can review investigate your complaint further.
I have 3 of the loans original agreements, and when I sent SAR off clydesdale sent me one of the other loan agreements, so I don't know why they are saying they havnt got paperwork now???1 of the loans I have no paperwork for so can they get out of paying that 1?
There is an acceptance form with the letter, n this is where I get confused, it says-
    Re loans 1,2 and 3.
I hereby accept the offer of redress as detailed in the banks letter dated 31/1/12 in full and final settlement of all matters, current or future, arising from my complaint against the bank in respect of the payment protection policy arranged in conjunction with the above loan account.
    TOTAL OFFER £3520.44
Can I accept these offers and it won't affect any of the other claims we have with them. This couldn't have come at a better time. My mum died last week, my fellas been off work with his back, so this couldn't have come at a better time ;-) n I could never have done it without help from on here. High five xx

when i took a loan out with nationwide for 9k i was i lead to belive i had to have ppi on it as nationwide wasnt my main bank i banked with and was informed that i may not get the loan when they press the button on computer to see if i would be accepted.

then regrading halifax who is my main bank i have been always pushed to have ppi on my credit card and previous loans, and was under the impression i had to have it otherwise it could harm my applications for being accepted.

about me i was in full time work , with company sick pay scheme , no mortage as i am a council tenant, always had 2k in savings for raining day,
i have now phoned nationwide regarding ppi and how i belive i was misold it, ( they said i would receive letter within 5 days then questionaire to fill out ) and it would take upto 8 weeks for outcome.

i rang hailfax and told them about ppi wrongly sold , and was told again letter in 5 days , then just wait for outcome in 8 weeks .

has anyone had any joy with challenging the 2 above , and am i doing this correctly ,
    many thanks
halifax loan ppi win £1607.15 :D
Halifax cc. Ppi win. £2.851.62 :)
everyones equal some more than others :D
  • Hi guys,

Apologies if this question has already been asked.

I had a First Direct Gold Card several years ago. I paid the card off about 5 year ago. I cant remember whether I had PPI on this card. I think I did, but can't be sure.

Do you guys know if there is any way I can check this please?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I have made a complaint with Lloydstsb on a credit card that I took out in 1995. I used it for years paying PPI. I stopped using it because I found it impossible to stop the PPI and it was costing me a percentage every month.

My comoplaint has been upheld and they agree it was missold! Hiowever the departments records only go back about 7 years and they see nothing on there to show I paid it.... therefore I have no claim!!

They said that i may have paid before but I have to go to the credut card department and get the proof and send it to them and then they will pay it!

LTSB want £6 per statement, even though they can go in and see it they refuse....even in light of them admitting wrongdoing! SOme of the statements will be 15 years old? I cannot remember how much I paid and £6 may be more than the PPI! I paid a percentage of the balance every month, even though I paid it in full every month!

Even the credit card employee said that it would be silly to keep paper statements that long for security reasons.

Is this the norm? Should I ombudsman this or try to appeal to their better judgement? It is going to cost me about £800 just to get the statements they refuse to look at!

    Any ideas or experience? FANKS!!!!!!

OMG .... LTSB "RIPPING" PEOPLE OFF AGAIN.

One would of thought they would have learnt their lesson with their HUGE PPI theft and fraud from consumers ??
One would assume that by charging £6 per statement, they already know they can supply them ?

Not only is this unfair trading, it is extortion and certainly this should be reported to the OFT

Best to SAR them which costs £10 also stating that if they will accept money for statements, then that is proof they have them

Write directly to Antonio Osorio the CEO with a severe COMPLAINT.

    THIS IS THE MAN

ANTONIO, YOUR BANK IS STILL "RIPPING" CONSUMERS OFF

    Hello

I put in a claim to Welcome Finance last August and shortly after received a letter asking questions about who I spoke to and where I signed the policy etc. I told them as much as I could remember but heard no more.

I have telephoned them today to check on progress and I was told that as my claim is an E1 claim (ie policy purchased through a broker) it is on hold pending further clarification as to whether Welcome are responsible for the misselling or not. This is clearly a delaying tactic, but in the meantime is there anything I can do apart from wait?:(
This is not a delaying tactic,if the broker sold you the ppi it is they who are responsible for the ppi mis sell, just hang on in there, hopefully the broker will cough up.

    Afternoon all!
forgive me for not reading the whole thread(s).:o
    Three questions:
1 - m'husband went down the phone route with Lloyds (not my idea), & is holding an offer of 1800. Can we say thanks but here's £11 for the T&Cs & the SAR as your maths goes back to 2005 & we've been paying longer(1990s on easily)?
2 - how do we say whoa to the offer - there is a number to say no on, but we don't know what's behind that door...:(
3 - he wants to take the money & run - I reckon that there are a couple of decades missing from their maths & would hate to accept a nibble when a meal awaits. Advice please?
I've had luck with bank claims, so the slow but worth it path would have been my first choice, but we are where we are. All advice welcome!

    Good afternoon.

Just finished going through my PPi questionaire in preparation to send off the HFC (beneficial) for a loan i took out in Nov 2007, obviously got all the usual guff about the PPI protecting me in the event of sickness and unemployment (only condition that was explained was pre-existing medical condition), was told that it would assist my application (was told it was not compulsory but that it would help), is this a reasonable case to submit to HFC ? As i did sign to agree to the insurance does that make my claims invalid ?

My other question revolves around a previous loan i had with the smae company Beneficial finance. This loan superceeded and paid off the old loan, i don't have any documents for the old loan, so i'm just wondering if it's worth waiting until i get a decision for this loan before going through all the rigmarole of a SAR request about the old loan account, as if i do get turned down for this one then i'm not likely to get anything for the old loan taken in 2005 am i?

Hi see the checklist and if you can answer NO to any of them, just claim the total back with 8% interest

Regarding the older loan, SAR them and see what comes back

*Did YOUR BANK explain the full cost of the PPI when you took out the loan?
*Did you specifically ask YOUR BANK for PPI?
*Did YOUR BANK make clear that PPI was optional?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about your medical history?
*Did YOUR BANK ask you about any existing payment cover?
*Did you know that YOUR BANK added a PPI policy to your loan?
*Do you think YOUR BANK treated you fairly?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you have any existing medical conditions?
*Did YOUR BANK ask if you were entitled to sick pay from your employer?
*Did YOUR BANK add the PPI without your permission
  • Hi all, I'm looking for some help here ? Does anyone know who the insurance underwiters for Kensington Mortgages/ Bright Finance were in 2006 ? I'm getting seriously messed about trying to reclaim ppi - but suppose thats normal eh !
