  • Another question, sorry!

For this form they've sent, they've asked for both signatures if it's a joint loan.

It was, but my ex is currently living in Australia. It's going to be a hassle posting it to be signed and then posting it back. Do you think I'd be able to pp it for him? Seeing as it's a joint loan mine should be enough?

It's not like I could steal any settlement anyway (not that I would!) as it would need to be paid into a joint account. We'd actually have to reopen one which again would be a hassle, but I'd rather do all that at settlement stage rather than now. That way if we're refused I don't have to talk to him at all.
  • Dear All was hoping for some help I put in a complain against MBNA and Captial one, I applied for these online.

I was in nutshell (5pages) told by both because I ticked a yes then I had agreed, in one of the numerous online pages!!!.

I never needed the insurance or have claimed on either card!

Is it worth futhering this to the ombudsman?

I cant remember the whole ticking through on the internet process, I honestly thought at the time it was a must! this was about 5 or 6 years ago!

Anyone had any success, when furthering this they said I've got a further 8months to forward the claim!

    thank you

    Peace:)

  • Hi,

I'm pretty new to the site so apoligies if I'm asking this question in the wrong section! I put a claim in to HSBC back in October 2011 after completing and sending back the forms as per this site. Last week I recieved an offer where they have stated they are 'happy to propose an offer of £276.50'. They have sent a breakdown of the PPI premiums paid and 8% interest which equals their offer. My question is do I accept this as they are prepared to offer me what was paid (May I add this cover was put on without my prior consent or knowledge) or should I reject it in order to be compensated? There is nothing in the letter which states it is a full and final offer. I do not want to come accross as greedy and would like some advice/information as in two minds in what to do. Your help would be hugely appreciated!!

Some ppi on credit cards had a pre ticked box for ppi online, you had to opt out of taking this.
You only have 6 months to take this to FOS not 8.
    Are these final responses?.
If they ar,e go on the FOS website and fill the questionnaire in,send copies of the responses from card companies.
Look here for reasons for mis sell

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance#step2

If any/all apply to you then put these reasons, put also that it may have been a pre ticked box for the ppi and you thought you had to have it.
If it was not a final response from the banks, then send your reasons for mis sell with the above, and tell them you do not agree with their findings and would like them to reconsider your claim.

What reasons did you use for mis sell and what reasons did they give you for rejecting?.

Is this a credit card or a loan?.

If it is a loan and the refund is the ppi you paid and interest, then they have given you full redress, you cannot accept anymore.

If this is a credit card, they may have only paid you for a certain timescale,if you have statements to prove you paid ppi before the dates they are redressing for, then you can send copies of these and ask they consider these.

It was for a loan, thank you for the advice and I will now accept their offer, I just wanted to make sure they were not trying to do me out of anymore (of my) money!
